View Full Version : 3.5 hours and no goals
Million dollar players and they can't kick one goal in 3.5 hrs?
Soccer or "football" must have the world's best marketing!
Imagine an AFL game with no goals - no one would bother to go.
Remove the offside rule and make the goals wider. Watching 3.5 hrs of passes and dives is boring.
10 goals per game should be the norm.

Must be million dollar defenders stopping them eh?
Good answer but 3.5 hrs and no goals isn't productive. Might just as well have penalty shoot-out straight away.
If the purpose of the game is to play boring defensive "piggy in the middle" style football, there is no point.
Million dollar defenders in American Football, Basketball, baseball yet they have plenty of points scored.

I feel the same about both soccer and basketball. In soccer, why not save a lot of trouble and just have a penalty shootout. In basketball why not start the game with scores even and thirty seconds to go. Again, save a lot of trouble. My soccer crazy friends say "its all about angles" and detect some manner of beauty in this. If that's the case, I'II stick with pot black.
