Oaks day is upon us and it is time to start searching for the winner.

I have watched the replay of the wakeful a few times and have come up with the following.

Why isn't zenarta running in the oaks?

Good ride by King gave serenade rose the gun run and she looked pretty impressive winning. Not sure if anything out of that race can turn the tables.

No excuses for astronomia she had the run 4th on the fence and just couldn;t keep up with serenade rose.

Lemon bitters boxed on oaky for 4th and had the harder run out of the first two, but still beaten well.

The most impressive run IMO apart from the winner was Isanami. On a day where it was hard to make any ground from the back of the field i thought isanami ran on well. Was well back in the field coming to the turn and you see that she gets blocked in for a split second when she tries to track Assertive guest. This takes away a bit of momentum, but when she gets going she is pulling ground of the front pack. Perhaps if the race is more truly run and having had two days of racing the outside might be the place to be she is a bit of a chance.

Also thought assertive guest wasn't too bad of a run.

What were other peoples thoughts?

Cheers

Just checked sportscolour and i am glad that it has vindicated my judgement of the video. Isanami ran the fastest last 200. If she could get a run closer to the speed and rip out a nice closing sectional i reckon she is a chance.

Isanami and Assertive Guest are the 2 I liked for the oaks after there runs the other day I don't think the Wakeful was all that fastly run and thought that both of them boxed on well especially Isanami could McArdle take out the oaks in back to back years.

Great minds think alike then. Earlier in the prep i was keen on Mary marvel but she has been dissapointing the last two.
