Feeling good having just got Snippetson home, so am going to do continuing tips for Slipper day

Randwick Race 3:
SEPIA stands out and should win quite easily after good runs in the randwick guineas and gosford guineas. Maybe throw in Cool Scene and Amen for the multiples

Mooney Valley Race 3:
HOLY BOUNTY and CLASSIC PINK should be fighting this out. Both coming off good runs and are up in weights, but come down with 3kg claims. Holly Bounty did very well last start against rising horse Zipping, and Classic Pink has been showing a lot of fight. Both have good barriers as well

Will be interesting to see how Sepia goes. I would normally tip him too, but he's got bar plates on this week. Phil Purcer from Just Racing says that is a big no-no. He reckons that if you see a horse in the gear changes with bar plates on, you should ignore it, because they just don't win. This will be a BIG test for that theory because Sepia is a clear favourite. Let's see how he goes.

Well, he got pretty close, but he didn't win.

 hmmm, had a problem with the site for the last 10 mins so couldn't post my special Serenade Rose.....

Mooney Valley 4:
I like favourite [b]PENTATHON[b] to beat Hong Kong Cheri here. Both come down with the claim, and have had good form in recent starts. Pentathon had a good run behind group 1 winner Demerger last start and ca nonly build on that.

Not going too well after a good start, but:

Rosehill 5 (BMW):
Looks to be a race in two, with EREMEIN and RAILINGS set to fight it out. Eremein is back to career best form, and has won 4 at track and 1 from 1 at distance. Railings has been improving every run and is a genuine 2400m runner. Look to Dizelle for value

Like Gallant Guru and Doubting in Adelaide. The Guru has been racing consistently of late plus he's not a bad type at all, at all. Doubting beat Serenade Rose last start in Melbourne, which doesn't seem to be bad form. I suppose they'll make a fool of me now but with decent odds would be worth a shot.

Ahh thats better, railings and eremien taking out the quinella with dizelle 4th

Mooney Valley 5:
MYPOLLONGA at fairly short odds should be winning this, with a very sold 2 len win last start over this track and distance. Only up 1.5kgs on that effort and has barrier 1. Apart from that maybe El Bandito if you can get around 10s

8th April 2006, 02:23 PM
Yeah I think you are right

MR5 looks a 2 horse race

8/04/2006 2:30 MOONEE VALLEY 5 1 MYPOLLONGA
8/04/2006 2:30 MOONEE VALLEY 5 2 DA CAPO

Chuck
8th April 2006, 02:42 PM
Mypollonga won well paying $3.30. Good work XPT baggin the quinella, despite it only paying 60c more than the winner ;)

George Ryder:
Well. What an open race. I think the winner might come from either LAD OF THE MANOR or PARATROOPERS. Though Dance Hero, God's Own and Racing to Win all look very good. I won't be betting.

Childs I feel is out of form at the moment at his best I wouldn't take anyother jockey in Australia but right now he doesn't seem to be getting things right there is no way that Lad should have been that far back in that race hell he was behind Patezza Great run from him I would say it will be all systems go for the Doncaster now not sure if my money will be on him but he deserves on of the big ones.

Chuck
8th April 2006, 03:01 PM
got the first 4 with those selections in the last (out of order), but obviously didn't back it :).

Mooney Valley 6:
I think ART CRITIC stands out and is good value at around $5.50. It has been racing well in the bush against older horses, and is ready to take the next step. Good jockey good barrier good chance. Other than than i think Deregulate and Follow the Rules have strong claims

I can't go past Casino Prince in the slipper he has been as good as anything leading into this race and gives the impression he will not have any problems running out a hard run 1200m I havenot wavered from him the last month or so and don't think there is any reason at all to do it now.

Chuck

SLIPPPER:
Well, as said, after long thought i think (hope) i have narrowed it down to DIEGO GARCIA, KAPHERO and WONDERFUL WORLD (not in that order). Diego has done nothing wrong, and has really shone in Sydney. Kaphero was stunning in the Adelaide Magic Millions Classic and was also impressive in its two blue diamond preludes. Wonderful World has won in Sydney and at the distance, and ran a good race in the Blue Diamond, as well as looking very good when thrid to churchill down in a trial last week. Definite value in the last two

Good win by Miss Finland!!! I've been following David Hayes all year with the 2yos and there was no reason to drop off today. Mad at myself for not including Pure Energy somewhere.

Chuck
8th April 2006, 03:54 PM
did you back miss finland?

i might have if her last run (before the slipper that is), wasn't so bad!

Chuck
8th April 2006, 04:01 PM
Next at melbourne is quite a toughie;

Mooney Valley 7:
In this i like MR MURPHY, ALI BENBARA and King Johannes in a difficult one. Mr Murphy, despite going up in weight, has been going steadily against top quality horses in group races. Class runner in field, but weight and barrier may be problems. Ali Benbara bolted home last start and the distance suits. good jock and barrier, and has a nice weight. Lastly, King Johannes has been consistent and hit the line strongly at this track last start. Certainly capable.

8th April 2006, 04:07 PM
Certainly did, Chuck. :D

Don't take any notice of my tips in the Group 1 comp or the Race of the day comp. (I was just covering myself with those tips) The ones I liked were the 3 horses I had in the Fantasy comp, Miss Finland, Churchill Downs and Casino Prince.

I thought Miss Finland's last run was quite good actually. It was certainly better than Churchill Downs' last run, but I thought both of them would be much more suited today. I had them rated 15,7,2,16, so that's why I'm mad at myself for not including Pure Energy amongst the placings. Oh well, never mind.

Raw Instinct

I should shut my mouth sometimes bag Childs and manages to get Pure Energy up for 2nd good run as I don't think it saw a great deal of the fence.

I like Serenote in Brissie good horse the only danger in my opinion is the fav.

After the last 2 in sydney I am on both Johan's Toy (praying it atleast gets every chance) and Legendary Man.

Yeah I took no notice of childs being aboard pure energy, she had posted some good times as well, kicking myself, had the first 5 except for her!

Rosehill Race 8:
MNEMOSYNE has been travelling very well this prep and has been screaming home each start. This should be the one where she breaks through for a win before nailing the doncaster ;). LOTTERIA came back after last prep 30 kgs heavier, and is starting to lose - getting better with each run. should be spot on now. REGAL CHEER has been in career best form, winning the surround stks and coolmore in last 2 starts. this is harder but should be up there. Star Shiraz is also good value at 12s, rocketing home in the coolmore

Raw Instinct
8th April 2006, 04:34 PM
Another shocker on Johan's Toy absolutely pathetic again why go up the fence when there are 5 horses in front of you that pretty much summed up the day for me.

Melbourne Race 8:
The race to be fought out by GINSPIEL has been racing consistently, and TWENTYTWO BLACK has shown potential in first two runs.

congrats chuck.....bit like golf hit a good one on the last and youll be back next week.

Chuck
8th April 2006, 05:01 PM
good return there, with Ginspiel winning at $14.10

Sydney 9:
This is a very open affair, and i hav 5 main chances. SPORTSMAN found the line well at newcastle at won well before that. TALL TIMBERS obviously won that race (a Group 3) at Newc and has only once missed a place at the distance from 5 goes. MATRAS is an up and coming star from Melbourne who won the G3 Inglis mile at last start. 3 from 3 at distance and has one first up. LEGENDARY MAN at good odds hit the line very strongly at Ncle first up and is down 2 kgs on that effort. should be peaking soon 2nd up from a long spell. Finally GORGONITE is in top form coming off a good third to tall timbers. that is the strong formline for this race and he is worth plenty of thought.
I have a $10 boxed tri for 17%

Sportz
8th April 2006, 05:04 PM
Yeah, well done Chuck. Good tip.

Chuck
8th April 2006, 05:26 PM
thanks guys, another good win there again with gorgonite winning at about $9.00

Last of the day, Mooney Valley 9:
I like 2 here - AMAZING ONE won well here last start, and effectively doesn't change weight. It has 5 wins at he distance, and is unbeaten at the Valley. SERENE PRINCE has been improving greatly so far this prep. It has 9-4-4-1 from the distance and has won at track. failed by a small margin against amazing one last start and should improve on that.
