Arwon RIP

Arwon, the 1978 Melbourne Cup winner, has died at the age of 33.
Started retirement as a police horse in NSW before living out his days on George Hanlon’s property near Geelong. Had one of my biggest MC collects on Arwon. Great memory!

Was the longest living Melbourne Cup winner! No doubt flags half-mast in Nowra today.

Sad news but at least he lived to a ripe old age (for a horse)
