This protest is a joke, no way it should take this long to sort it out.

I had He's Remarkable rated on top, so I'm not happy. I haven't seen the race, but I don't think too many people who have agree with the decision.

I had the winner rated second, i didn't see the race but from what the commentators were saying i didn't think it would be upheld.

I hope some one can post a link to the race, the head on would be even better.

I watched it over and over yesterday during the protest and I did back Luckygray heavily.
I didnt think that it would be upheld purely because it was a group 1. There is no doubt at all that the check that lucky got was a result of kerrins horse, if there was no check, lucky would of won by 2 lengths..
trying not to talk from my wallet but the horse that deserved to win, won.

Like a lot of punters that backed the original winner no doubt
Have seen the replay & don't think McEvoy was solely to blame

Has caused a big stir particularly on the east coast, hometown decision many are saying, may have some negative effect on the number of horses to head west in the future, but I think probably not.

Still shaking my head in disbelieve!
Talking about indirect interference 600m from the finish of a race.
You're kidding!

Quote from Roger James in our press:

"Not only is there doubt, there was not one piece of evidence produced by stewards that showed it was even He's Remarkable that caused any interference at all.

"That alone should have been sufficient to have the protest dismissed."

gee i'm not sure from that replay
big ted on the outside of waratah's secret looked to be hanging-in in the head-on shot just before the incident (wider view)
luckygray in my opinion didn't seem to lose all that much momentum just after that as his jockey hadn't really stoked him up at the time
big run luckygray in any case

Not the first time for Big Ted. Often gets a mention in the steward reports for laying-in.

Don't agree with any of that. 2 strides after Waratahs Secret was pole-axed McEvoy had He's Remarkable in the very position WS would have been in, not long after that he was 4 deep. Clearly indicates he was pushing out deliberately. The fact that WS was squeezed between two runners does not diminish McEvoys culpability. And Luckygrey lost a good length as a result of the backwash.

Fair decision in my view.

I did notice Ranger seemed to be cruising into the race right before he was smashed. Bring on the Kingston Town!

The owners of He's Remarkable have applied for leave to appeal over the protest result handed down by Racing Western Australia Stewards in the Railway Stakes

I don't think they have released the Railway prize-money yet, at least 1st & 2nd anyway.

For a slightly better look at the actual incident.

Whats "remarkable" is the ground made up by Waratahs secret ,after its big check. I appreciate its then had a clear run along the fence to be 'photoed' out of 3rd place, but it must be the fastest last 600 mtr -over a mile- for a long while.

Cheers
