Hey, I'm heading out to the track this week this week for the first time in Australia, just wanted some advice on placing bets with the bookies here, (Track is canterbury so sydney course)
specifically
:What are the min/max bets you can place i.e (Will I get laughed at if I want to put a dollar on/ will they except a 1000 bet without blinking an eye)
:Can I ask for a certain price or do I just take the board price.
:Is it better to get on early or late generally, and anything else you think I might find of interest.
Thanks.

Long time between drinks, Mat, welcome back to the forum
Where r u located in Sydney Mat, getting to the track (Canterbury) might be a bit of a trip in itself
In any case enjoy the day out, mate :)

Boat trip sounds the go, miss all the traffic LOL
Could even do to Canterbury but not sure if the Hawkesbury meets up with the Cooks :)

Always ask for a point or so more than the board is showing.

Eg: If the board is showing $4:00 then just say " Do you want a hundred (or whatever your stake is )at $4.25?"

A lot of the time you will get a roll or two out of them.

Hi MaxBetMat
Never bet with an on-course bookie anyplace?
