It's happened again - Launceston R8 no. 12 was a qualifier and I failed to identify it - $7.00 for the win and $1.90 for the place.

I realise it sounds as if I'm having "a lend of everyone" because it is the third selection I missed since posting - and they all won. But I must reveal EVERY selection if we are to see if the system has any merit. I also realise some people may not believe me and would therefore have the impression that I am a sort of scamster, and for those who do believe me would also easily have the impression that I am somewhat negligent - so for me it's a no-win situation. But I have to be honest about the method. The only positive aspect is that the real selections have performed better than those posted here. Yesterday, I realised the error about a minute before the race and was able to have a minimal win bet on it with Betfair but was too late to have a place bet. I have now devised a better method to identify the selections and hopefully the method will continue to perform.

Sportznut, I have been testing another system since the beginning of Dec 2003 based on favourites running at metropolitan tracks. The win betting is in profit but the place is slightly in arrears. However, applying your "under 8 starters" rule, the win has improved, and probably more importantly, the place is now showing a 11% POT. Incidentally, there were two selections yesterday: Oratorio at Morphetville and Valashka at Sandown. They both won, but it is still too early to have any real confidence to post the selections here as there have been only about 20 qualifiers before yesterday.

After cross-checking today's indentification process for accuracy the Last Start Winners System selections are:

Gosford R1 no. 5 - Lake Cada.
Gosford R6 no. 2 - Jewel Peak.
G'ton R7 no. 4 - Colorado River.

Under 8 Starters
Gosford R2 no. 3 - Thunder Time.
Mackay R3 no. 3 - Go Tempo.

Michael, I think I've pretty much worked out your system's rules, so I know you weren't just saying that you picked Cherry Wild because it won. You'll have to be really thorough when working out the selections in future! From the results so far, I think the system looks pretty good.

Hi, Sportznut.

Yes, it's a fairly simple system, there are not many filters.

I have today devised a new and thorough way of identifying the selections by a cross-referencing method. Now all we need is the system to continue performing.
