SPRING CARNIVAL TIPPING COMP (Oct 30)

Comp Rules:

$50 worth of bets each week. Win bets only, but you can back more than 1 horse per race. You can either have five $10 races, or three $10 races and one $20 race. Money from scratchings to be carried over and bet the following week. Unitab dividends used for results. Everyone is allowed to miss one week of the comp without incurring a penalty. After that you lose $50 for every raceday you miss. There will be a feature race each week that everyone must tip in.

I know it's 'Derby Day', but perhaps we should make this week's feature race the Salinger Stks. What do you think?

EDIT: This week's feature race is definitely THE VRC DERBY.

Are we having a seperate tipping comp for Melb Cup with the 5 picks and $50?

I need to know now as I am going away with friends who are not just non-race goers but anti-racing altogether (what you do for love). I'll have to place my picks today or tomorrow.

What's so confusing? Only tips for tomorrow's races on THIS thread, but we will be having tips on Tuesday, Thursday and the following two Saturdays as well. We'll finish the comp on Sandown Classic day.

I've already started a thread for Melbourne Cup day for people like Seeker11 who want to put tips in early. Because Oaks day isn't a holiday and some people may be too busy, I don't think we should penalize anyone for not tipping on that day.
