OK, finally here's the updates.

There's been some great tipping, some very good strike rates and some very good roughie winners found. I fell into neither category and have taken my spot proudly at the absolute bottom of the ladder. I led after week one, I'm last now. Oh well, it's like that song, the only way is up.

Well done Raw who continues to fly, and Sirpent the same. This is developing into an interesting tussle at the top of the leaderboard. Will be very interested to see what the weekend brings. Can one of them pull away? Will they stay neck and neck? Can someone else do a leapfrog?

Time will tell.....

Sorry Duritz, not that I'm all that worried because I don't think I can win this, but I'm a bit confused by my position. Now, I don't know which divs you're using but from my reckoning, I think I should have been about +$4 after last Saturday and you actually had me at -$4.

yeah, i think mines wrong as well, but it was my fault...i had a $3.90 winner on Sunday, + 2 losses, so that would be +$1.90

On saturday i had a $3.30 winner and a $3.60 winner and two losses, so that would be +$4.90

I started on -$10, so +$6.40 i would've thought my balance was -$3.60 instead of -$10.1

As I said, I'm not really that worried except that it always looks nicer if you have a + in front instead of a -.

OK I have sorted out all the issues.

Sportz - apologies for mucking up your scores AGAIN in this comp.... It is not intentional, I will make sure it doesn't happen again. You were right, your score has been upped by $7.90, with an extra two winners added. For some reason I had two of your winners down as losers. Have rectified that.

Chuck you have to introduce me to your bookie. If he's letting you get "a $3.90 winner on Sunday, + 2 losses, so that would be +$1.90" then I have to let him take my bets too!

Seriously though that horse actually paid $4.00 on STab, giving you a profit of $1.00 that day.

Cheers Tubby. I was last, I had to get a winner eventually.... My slump, however, is now over. Of this I am sure. I had been betting small the last couple of weeks, and not at all a lot of the time, because of being in a slump. Time to resume proper levels!!

By the way all, I am upping the maximum level of bets from 30 to 60 per week. It is obvious blokes like me and Sportz need it!!

Hey by the way Tubby after this month we'll start the comp all over again if you want to be in the next one. I haven't been as diligent as I perhaps should have been in keeping it up to date, but I think it's been fun nonetheless.

As I said, if I had tipped today, all I was going to do was just pick the inside and outside barrier in every race at Adelaide. Should have done it too because I would have made a profit of $70 today on Unitab figures.

No worries Sportz but remember, the beauty of this comp is you don't HAVE to tip heaps of em - you can just tip a few a week and be probably better off than mugs like me who tip heaps, because of the profit thing.

Well well well. What a Saturday. What a finish to the week. What great tipping by the two leaders. Christ some people under the pressure would crack like an arthritic pensioner's leg when she's run over by a truck, but these two powered on like, well like the truck I suppose.

Testarossa - 24 tips, 8 wins, return 57.1 - Brilliant.
Raw - 7 tips, 3 wins, 19.60 and could have been so much more, but also Brilliant.

You two have done very well in this comp and continue to lead the way. %POT of 34% and 42% is fantastic. I hope you're backing all these things.

The rest of us were OK, neither good nor bad really. We pretty much all either won or lost just a little. Feather was the "worst" but was still only a negative 6.0. I went through a spell of 22 loser's in a row in this comp, -6 is childs play.

There's two full weeks left of the comp, then three days after that to the end of May. Those final three days willgive the second person time to try and catch the leader. Right now Testa has kicked to a $12 advantage, but it's no winning break yet.

Hey, who knows, someone else may yet pop up with a long shot winner and challenge all.

May be it'll be Sportz, re-instating himself into the comp tomorrow morning in a blaze of roughie glory at Eagle Farm, or Sirpent, who decided not to tip this week, who'll make up for it in the two weeks remaining, or Chucky boy, tipping the toppies everywhere, or Kiwi, who has gone strangely silent, perhaps he's reasearching some gun system to blow the comp away. Or maybe it'll be me, desparate and guessing, or mercurial, who has been solid as a rock all the way through and maintains a profit, or zorro who is in the same boat.

It's a fragile, precocious thing the new sys., and we're protective of it lest if shold be shot down and die, like a new child we want to protect it, you putting it out there is very brave. Well kids, there's a mere 8 days remaining in the first New Tipping Comp, and right now, if we were framing a market on the inaugral winner, Testarossa would be very short, for while he soars high like an eagle, the rest of us - with the exception of Raw - are gobbling around on the ground like turkeys.

Merc and Sirpent are going well too, I must admit, however Testa's lead is a good one and is going to be very hard to catch. Chuck has the right idea, trying to find a roughie to get him over the line. It's the only way someone can win, and even then it might not be enough. And in the meantime, Testa might find a roughie himself and soar higher!

The weekend was a bit of a fizz, with no-one ending up in the black on Saturday except for Mercurial. He did well, tipping two from three on Sat. The rest of us were all loser's to varying degrees, no-one had a wipeout, generally we all just lost a few units.

A finish worthy of the annals of racing history (that's annals with TWO n's), worthy to be hung up in TAB's and back yard bar's like the old triple dead heat in the Hotham Hcp. And what would the caption say? Something like this I reckon: "Testa hangs on in a beauty!" because, yes, as Sportz alluded, Tuesday being the final day of May was supposed to be the final day of the comp, I just thought it'd be good to end it on a Wednesday, so extended it a day, but when I extended it I did not consider that I might make some final burst (of which I thought I was incapable) to pinch it, I just wanted to extend the drama a little. For me, the drama is as fun as the comp itself.

So, well done Testa. It's a much deserved win. You led basically all the way, and those horses are the ones which I most admire. You held strong, and deserve to win the comp.

Enjoy the champagne and multiple naked buxom blondes which I assume will follow. :)

Well done Testa, your tips were really solid. You consistently found winners, and they were consistently a good price. What struck me was your ability to find winners at the $7 - $8 mark so often. You deserve all the spoils of victory. (And of course the big t***ed blondes :) )

As to the June comp, I think Sportz has something in mind, a good idea actually, one that has been bandied about by a few different people, something that would, IMO, work well. Have a look in that thread Raw started entitled Sportz or Duritz.

For now, I'll let the tipping comp pause. Am quite, quite busy with other stuff right at the mo. Enjoy it, but also there's something to be said for keeping a thing fresh and new, such as a new type of tipping comp will do.

If anyone else wants to run a comp, just do so. I might do this one again in a month or two, we'll see how we're going. But now, support Sportz's idea.
