View Full Version : Moonee Valley Pace Question

Hello. I am internet punting at Moonee Valley and Rosehill tonight. On weekends, we get the full card here in the U.S., if I can last until 2:30 A.M.. My question about Moonee Valley is this: In the past it has seemed to favor early front runners for whatever reason (distance, surface, tight turns, etc.) It seems that while a horse can win with any running style, turf racing (here and in Oz) tend to favor stalkers/late runners as a general observation. Since Moonee Valley is slow and showery today, what effect should this have on the pace there?

Regards,

I suggest you watch the first few races. The rail is in the true & sometimes it can be "off" when wet. Horses can swoop at MV, they just have to stoke up down the side.

Always very good advice anywhere, watching a few races. Thanks.

I want to back Virage De Fortune in the 1000m scamper, so hopefully the fence will be OK.

have fun

Well, I Got Chills flew from in front, Brockman's Lass came from the back and Duelled was foward most of the way.

I thought the short stretch might beat Makybe. NOPE!
