Just want to throw these tips out and see how they go. Win only, but some of these could be well into EW odds.
Race 1 Star Of Vain
Race 2 Diabolical race - going for a roughie, Midas Rose.
Race 3 Lone Lover
Race 4 Carry Kali
Race 5 Konjo
Race 6 Kame's Hope (special)
Race 8 Twin Power

See how we go with those, Paddy.
Very keen to see the Groper's selections for Race 2.
Cheers.

Hi Rain Lover, race 2 doesn't look too bad actually. Think there are 3 good chances, Anchor The Stars, Vain Zoe and your pick - Midas Rose.

The latter I think will improve dramatically on her last run, meets Vain Zoe 2.5kgs better & although beaten just over 4 lengths, was blocked for a clear run between the 400m & 100m.

Agree Kame's Hope should win, but have not rated him enough in front of rest of field, to declare him a special.

Good luck with your selections!

interested in your comments on kame's hope
on an equal weights basis. (a calculation i use to measure the past performace) classic lady was 3.36 lengths ahead of the horse that beat it last time (equal weights remember) and kame's hope was 4.57 lengths behind (e.g. the horse that beat kame's hope carried 59 and he carried 53.5)
this put classic lady 7.93 lengths ahead of kame's hope on equal weights basis. i wonder what the margin was.
although this often does not carry weight (no pun intended) it gives a guide to the value of the prices offered.
although i tipped senate lease (a good run at odds) i did have something on classic lady and nothing on kame's hope)
for interest in the last race my sole runner was general grant (system) and he was 2.23 lengths ahead on equal weights.
almost but not quite at $18 but still a good each way go.
i know these scenarios probably only muddy the waters but its helpful
regards

Think we were unlucky with Lone Lover, Rain Lover. Worth following?

Gidday Paddy.
Sorry for not replying earlier, but what a lousy day. One first at (1/1) and 4 placings out of 6 selections, but if you bet on the nose (as I do), it was a shocker.
I think Lone Lover is well worth following. When he learns to run straight, in the straight, he will be a very handy 3YO. Has been putting down some very good times, whilst heading towards the grandstand.
Carry Kali is another better than average 3YO. They both got up for me, at longish odds mid-week, 2 weeks ago.
