AUSTRALIA 1.47
DRAW 4.00
ENGLAND 7.00

Am I the only one here who think the Aussies are a certainty? Surely Australia will win. I think they will win the series 3-0

Im thinking about investing a grand on the Aussies to win $470 on this match. Yeah, its a big bet for me...

Anyone thinking different?

Hi dc you would think the Aus are a certainty, but you never now, it could rain (it would have to rain for three days)

Aus are paying 1.58 on betfair

cheers

Thanks for the big tip DC, not sure id be taken too much 1.47 on aything.

Im sure if you follow in play you will get more than 1.47 during the match.

Might wait for Mack to post his play in the special cricket betting forum, fom what Ive seen, he reads a days play better than anyone Ive seen, just need to make some money out of it.

As for the 3-0 result, will need some rain for that to occur. Can maybe see a draw in Perth, but doubtful elsewhere unless the drought breaks.

Cheers

Well that was easy money.... yeah did worry about rain a little but the odds were big if that was to happen... i thought they should of been like 1.05 for australia.... so i thought 1.47 was good because i really felt they'd win. if i was on bet fair... a 1.58 is generous.

I put them in heaps of multis to take out the series, got em for 1.32... now they are like 1.15.

go aussies...! you guns!

Hope for your sake that you didn't back up in the 2nd test.

They may well end up winning this series, but I still think the Australians are incredibly over-rated in the betting markets. As soon as England won the toss yesterday, I quickly jumped on and backed both England and the draw at exactly the same odds as you've shown there ($7.00 & $4.00). I'm fairly confident about collecting right now. From the way they were talking pre-test, I think England will be determined to bat on as long as possible and play Australia right out of the game, just as we did in the first test.

I got $4.50 the draw on Betfair and am very happy with that right now

Stayed out of this match as adelaide oval is a 5 cent coin, batting wicket.. Thought this game would be decided on the toss...
if you got $ 4.00 for the draw thats nice... I just put Australia in a multi but its looking like thats dead.. I still have the feeling that England wont win a game....
Think the aussie price fits the bill on paper.

Okay, what the hell's going on??? Surely England couldn't actually lose this test after scoring 6-551 dec!!!

This morning, being the incredibly cautious "always take a saver" type punter that I am, I actually decided to cover myself by throwing a small bet on Australia at $13, just in case there happened to be a HUGE English batting collapse. But I have to say that I never actually expected it to happen!!!

The draw is still a big chance if Harmison and Anderson can stay in with Collingwood for long enough, but if any big professional punters jumped on at the price of $1.01 this morning, then they're probably just a bit nervous right now.

hahah sports.... Geeez i cant believe this is happening... Aussies need 168 with about 37 overs........... geez this is possible... My multi is pending which
Australia need to win....

If England dont win this.... what a dismal effort after winning the toss....
Just goes to show how keen i am that Australia will definately win the series......

Draw is a chace still.... its goin to he awesome finish.....

GO Aussies.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!

England could still win this. If Australia keep playing reckless one-day type shots and get themselves out (like Langer just did), they could collapse in a heap.

....... and Hayden! What a terrible shot. There's no need to play like that!!! :(

oh come on ... they are off to a good start.... they will struggle to get pointing out.... he is the key i think.... they have this.... that was a good catch to get hayden out.... they had a bit of luck.... I dont think England will win...

Jeez it was going to be a draw for all money! I can't believe how easily the poms crumbled. A good finish coming up, we are currently just above the required run rate

Yes there is, 4.6 per over isn't easy to do without going for a few risky shots. We still have another 8 wickets up our sleeves anyway

What was Martyn doing? Seriously, there's still plenty of deliveries left. No need to go stupid like that.

Yeah. Perhaps you should have. :D

But I guess what's happened in the game shows that they weren't great value at $1.47 pre-game. Not when England won the toss and it was possible to get much bigger odds on Australia later on. I wonder what the highest odds were on an Australian win during the game? I'd suggest they must have been pretty big when they were 3-65 replying to 6-551.

If England lose this game, it'll be a real killer for them. There's just simply no way you should lose a game after scoring 6-551 dec!!!

And I guess the one really important question that needs to be asked - why no Panesar??? I thought it was a stupid decision before the game. Now I'm thinking it was just plain ridiculous.

Sure am. Sometimes it just pays to be extra cautious, because you never know what might happen!!!

Great to be ahead 2-0. Didn't think there was any chance of that after day two!!!

I agree. But there are plenty of other questions too.

At 6-551 there was no need to close the innings. Australia was there for the taking. Go ahead and make 600 or 650.

Also on the last day England approached the match with the fear of losing instead of looking at how they could win. If they approached their last innings positively with the aim of extending their lead of 90 by another 100 before lunch and then hitting out to set Australia a target it is unlikely they would have lost.

The English side choked. They were so scared of failure they refused to play shots or played the most out of character shots like Pietersen did against Warne.

Sportz

Exactly. It was quite amazing really. All the way through, despite being behind for most of the game, the Australians still actually believed they could win it. Whereas it seems that all along, England was just hoping for a draw. If England had simply been more positive on the last day, there's no way Australia would have been able to win the game. The English run rate was pathetic. They didn't seem to realise that the one way to ensure they didn't lose was to actually score some runs. Just 2 an over probably would have been enough!

And I agree about England's first innings. A couple of important points there. If Australia had batted first and been in a dominant position like England was, then I'm certain they would have scored at a quicker rate and probably made around 650 in the same time that England scored 550. And I guess you also have to credit Warne a bit there. His defensive tactics on day 2 that people were criticising probably forced them to declare short of the score they actually wanted.
