The computer programme already rejects a new user name that is identical to one already in use.
But unfortunately it will be complex and costly for a free service like this forum, to make the computer programme reject new user names which are spelt differently, but sound like a current user name.

Dear Mr. Ed,
I understand your postings in the past contained many a winner. Being reasonably new to this forum, wondering why you no longer post.

Apologies to Mr. Ed for registering a username similar to yours. I have re-registered with a new nic and regret treading on your hoof.
Apologies once again.

Got a real chuckle from this thread :) Wondering if we still have any of our 'talking horses' frequenting this forum & if so how they are going :) :)

Oh those wonderful times backing plenty of winners and wagging plenty of classes when this thread first originated.
Been off the scene for a while, however, just thought i'd have a look for old times sake and was surprised to see this thread up and running.
Have just started studying the gallops again after a few years off, things are looking promising so far, will post some tips and see if we can recapture some of that old form.
Cheers Ed

P..a.d.d.y last posted here on the 17th. April, 2005. He made over 30 posts that day and there was not the slightest hint that it would be his last day posting or visiting this site. A couple of e-mail communications some months after P..a.d.d.y.'s last post here were not returned.
and we were all wondering what happened to you! ;)
