Who is the "tipster" who has been given the moniker: "William H. Macy?"
Hint: William H. Macy starred in a movie about gambling and played the part of a "Jonah" or "mock" who was employed by the casino boss to stand next to winning punters and subsequently destroyed their run of luck and the house recouped all it's losses.
Anyone seen the movie and have any suggestions regarding the identity of our "mystery tipster?"
To my knowledge he is not a current contributor to this forum.
All contributions/ guesses welcome.
All in good fun.

William H Macy also played the comedic racetrack authority who had a show called "clockers corner" in the movie Seabiscuit. He would go about the track snooping for scoops for his show in his "breaking news" segment.

I think it could be a tipster who is also a clocker.

This same "tipster" has been alleged to be on retainer from major trainers NOT to tip their horses.

Real Deal-that's right, the movie is "The Cooler."
darky-no, it's not him.
blacksnake-yeah, I heard that too-you're getting close!
You must admit this bloke is the most consistent tipster we have seen for a while-notice that I said "consistent" not "most successful!"
Hint: This bloke is certainly in "The Know."
More thoughts/guesses welcome.

Cheers.

I know of one mad gambling racing journo who always gets the good oil but always puts the winners as second or third pick with only the shorties on top.

Hint: conducted tours to the Japan Cup ;)

CP- No, I dont think it's him although I am trying to remember who that tour host was...any more hints?
I'll give you another hint for my entity- he is a "megastar" in Sydney radio.

Cheers.

My hint is he is the Melbourne equal of Max Presnell.

To your hint, he is in the know but also a mega radio personality.

Would it be either one of the FBI or indeed Max himself???

No, sorry CP,

This personality is "truly keen" to provide winners to followers but so far all he has done is empty their bank accounts.
Maybe better days ahead!

No CP,

Some people think that Friday the 13th is "Black Friday."
The colleagues of this bloke tremble each and every Friday when this bloke gives his "tip."(refer to blacksnake's comments in an earlier thread).

Well...what can you say?
Railings was ridden a terrific race by D. Beadman but we had to carry "the cooler" didn't we(2nd $1.7plNSW)?

Cheers.

TFK is nothing more than a sports journalist. It's not as if he is trying to preach an ************ opinion - he knows that he is just an average joe punter like most of us, and tries to pick something at odds each week. It isn't even on racing some of the time. Anybody that has "emptied their bank account" on his tips has no one to blame but themselves.

If we hunting down so-called "media tipsters," at least have a go at some who legitimately claim to be experts, who consistently pick short-priced horses as their 'best on the card" and consistently lose. I'd guess a lot more "bank accounts" would be emptied on these jokers.
