Someone (or others) must have had a big plonk on the three placegetters, There was $22,00 in the Place pool, and when one-third is allocated to each placegetter that means just over $7,000 is in the individual pool. What a terrific endorsement for Place betting!

Not sure what happened there. The place pool was over 5 times the win pool and FAR higher than the place pools on any of the other races there today.

So like Michael said, someone's had a BIG go on all 3 placegetters.

You would've been chipper if you backed the 9 for a place. Showing $7.7 win, $7.5 place in a field of 9, but ran 4th, they knew.
