Very open race

I reckon anyone who wants to back the Hussler is kidding themselves...would love to know the plans for Master O'Reilly and Littorio, whether the Melbourne Cup is the main aim....Don't mind the look of a few, maldivian, nom de jeu, red ruler, mad rush, guillotine should be a good race

Littorio is the obvious favourite but doesnt look to be suited by the way the race should be run. I like Nom du Jeu, would be very happy if it took out the CC MC double. These two are my top 2 with Douro valley in there for a place. You could make an arguement for almost the whole field.

Master O'reilly to go back to back?

Like Littorio and Gulliotine aswell, & don't think the Hussler's as out of it as some want you to think.

I have been saying to a few mates the kiwis will win atleast one of the cups this year and I feel this is a good one to start with.

I am a massive fan of Nom Du Jeu (used to back his mother alot) but I think he has a few things against him and the barrier might not be his biggest worry, he has apparently travelled over here a bit average which is never good but he may get over that before saturday, The barrier may actually be a blessing in disguise he has run his best races when being ridden dead cold I have a feeling they didn't want to do that in NZ because the didn't want to try and outsprint Princess Coup (no disgrace there) saturday I think he goes to the back and makes one big run at them not easy to do at caulfield though. I think he runs a cracking cup trial and finishes close to the place getters if not in them.

Red Ruler is the one for me has been for a couple of weeks now he is weighted well on his NZ form has more of a turn of foot than Nom Du Jeu and barrier 1 probably gives him the chance to settle about mid field on the fence where Corey Brown can then just bide his time and give him one final crack at them up front late alot of caulfield cups are won by horses just getting there the last 50 metres and I can see this bloke getting that run here.

others I like are Littorio, Boundless, Zagreb, Guillotine and maybe Ice Chariot

My money will be on Master O'Reilly again. Was on him last year and watching his 2nd place in the Turnball am confident he can go back to back. Carrying 6kgs more this time around is the only worry I have. The barrier shouldnt be a concern as he will be back near the end of the field anyway.

Like to see what Mad Rush does... having something small on an each of two basis.

Boundless interests me,,,still work to do but the speed map looks devoid of alot of pace up front,,,boundless atleast the type that will be handy ..

Master O'Reilly is up in weight too much this year as I'm sure he was on the min. last year[?], but if my dart[s] hit him I'll put him in as a bet.

Im liking Guillotine (has a bad barrier tho) , Boundless, Riva San.
Littorio should be flashing home... luck will play major this year i tinks.
The Hussler... well wont shock me if he won but im leaving him out. I think hes had too much racing and needs a rest.

I seen one of the prettiest girls associated with horse racing in my Life.
I think she may own MAD RUSH.
For that reason...PLUS...SPORTZ has it mighty short in his Consensus Ratings, I'm having an Eachway Bet on it.

Geez couple of big runs there Nom Du Jeu was fantastic massive run to come from where he did on the turn, Mad Rush was great aswell I will have to go over the tape and check the race out again thought that Red Ruler was a bit unlucky in the run didn't get a great run through.

Nom Du Jeu was a good result for me as a placing but would have really liked Red Ruler to get up.

Ollie musta got confused and thought he was at FLEMINGTON.
Shoulda stayed Last at the finish and then only him and me would know that the pretty girl will be drinking champagne out of the Melbourne Cup.

I ended slight up, backed NDJ each way but lost on red ruler

Backed Mad Rush for the Melbourne cup at $13.50 about 10 minutes before the race, looks to be value now!
