I have never sat down to ponder how the TAB works exactly, but have a rough understanding of it - I think
I was wondering if one of you more knowledgable guru's could answer the following question...
yesterday I placed a bet on a trots race on the NSW TAB. There was $5000 in the place pool, ten runners in the race, my horse was the second favourite at the time offering $1.50 for the place. The fav at that time was showing $1.04 for the place. I put $100 on my horse.
I checked for the next few minutes to see if there was any effect on the price due to my wager but saw none.
So my question is... what sort of percentage of the place pool was likely to have been on my horse at that time and what kind of wager would I need to put on it to have any impact assuming the pool finished with about 10K.
Is there any way of knowing the amount that has been put on my horse??Does the TAB show this anywhere???
I await your wisdom...
and for those who like a happy ending to a story, my horse drifted out to $2 for the place- and won, so it was a nice afternoon's investing
