Champion jockey Jim Cassidy showed how quickly things can change in the racing game at Randwick yesterday.

He went from onlooker, when his warm favourite News Alert was scratched at the barriers from the listed Carrington Stakes, to winner with Rainbow Styling in the listed Tattersall's Club Cup in the space of an hour.

Cassidy gave Rainbow Styling ($3.10) the perfect ride in the box seat and the Zabeel five-year-old, which travelled like a high-class stayer, sprinted away to score by a length from Hairy ($14), with the unlucky Spinney ($9) a short half head back in third.
