I've been betting a Place system since last Tuesday and there have been 24 selections for no losers - i.e. 24 selections for 24 placegetters.
I'll list today's selections in order of race-time, and with amusement see if the F.Curse does its job.
Murwillumbah R4 no.1 - Zekeza
Cranbourne R7 no.1 - Regibush
Bunbury R2 no.3 - The Duxford Wing

You're a brave man, Michael http://www.propun.com.au/racing_forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif ! Good luck anyway. Was missing your posts and ideas.
The laying idea seems to have fallen a little on hard times. Still you have to expect that, I suppose.

The Curse may have had the last laugh because its the first day the method lost on Win betting.

it may have lost on win betting but you said its a place betting system, I had an all up with your selections for the place today so I hope they keep performing like that!

Glad you won, Horse Whisperer. I had individual Place bets.
Even though I've only bet Place, there have been 13 winners from the 27 selections for a POT of 17% on Win betting (NSW TAB divvies), so yesterday's loss of $0.60 was no big deal. Place shows a profit of 34% which is not unexpected from a 100% strike rate.
I'm also testing and betting another Place system using the common filter with the above system, namely 8 to 12 starters only. However, the final selections are derived from a different source. Even though it has a high strike rate (14 winners and 23 placegetters from 25 selections) Win betting shows a higher POT than Place.

I'm again going to tempt the Curse, but with the second method which has not yet suffered a losing day.
Musswellbrook R8 no.5 - Dubai Fling

michaelg, I've been place betting sucessfully for quite a few years and have had runs of 20+ several times and an overall S/R 80%+, (for a small % profit) but most of my bets are Metro Wed& mainly Sat. I've never been able to make it pay Weekdays (all racing) so you are doing particularly well in my opinion.
One thing though, you MUST change to "best tote" makes all the difference. As I said elswhere there is a new player now offering Best Tote or 1/4 SP odds (the place) whichever is higher.

Can you give me a clue?

Is this each-way and/or Place betting?
Also, do they provide this for racing on all days?

michaelg, er, I'm not sure if I'm allowed by the Moderator as its a mob not advertising here,....... drop me a line at lumbasakabayo att hott male dot comm (cryptic) and I'll get it to you.
Yep I asked them if it related to place only betting and they stated caraghorically that it does.

Thanks, Party - I've sent you the e-mail.
The Curse struck the Win component of today's selections, but not for the Place. All three selections placed for a return of $4.40 on NSW TAB.

I agree with Shaun --- I don't think that the answer to that query violates forum rules as expressed in the post referred to!

I could not discover whether the Place betting feature applies to mid-week and non-metro racing??? I think it could be home tote plus $5%?

I think Canberra race 1 No. 13 Figasaurus would do well today, I know it doesn't exactly fit your criteria but has a good Jock and misses being a qualifier by just 1!
What you think?

lomaca, even though in my opinion it has a better jockey, I think Lyceum Fair might finish in front of it. But don't let me dissuade you from backing it.

You seem to have that Forum Curse well and truly "broken in", Michael (Shh. --- I know I should not say that out loud :)). Well done.
Any for today??

Hi, Merriguy.
Yes, both methods are going quite well in spite of one day's listing for each method here to tempt the Curse. At the moment, Win is outperforming Place betting in both methods which surprises me. However there have not been many selections so far - only 38 in one and 50 in the other.
I am uneasy at the moment to fequently list the selections here but might do so every now and then. If any of the two methods continue to perform after a certain period of time that gives me confidence I might then release the rules to any forumite privately.

Hi, Thorns.
I'm now looking at a third system using the 8 to 12 starters rule.
The two normal systems are not doing well at the moment, glad I didn't post today's selections. Hopefully they'll pick up.

michaelg, funny thing about place betting, I've had some amazing runs 22-24 followed by a loser or two and then another run 20+ etc etc. But the only thing that matters is the last RUNNING total column. I left 3 alone today as they were what I call TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE i.e. Whistle in the first, Almighty runner, and Ma Ma Machine.

Hi, Party.
A very bad day yesterday - halved the profit in both methods for win and place betting.
After yesterday's battering I'll list today's selections for the original system and see if it picks up.
Tamworth R4 no.1 - Laogan
Coffs Harbour R4 no.2 - Runaway Shadow
Sun Coast R4 no.2 - Frisco Lights*
Hobart R5 no.6 - Turbo Qui*
Hobart R6 no.7 - She's Good As Gold*
Port Lincoln R3 no.3 - Ziparoo*
* = these are Unitab 100 pointers which has a better POT in the system with both win and place betting.
