Today's race meeting at the Gold Coast is all about dollars – millions of them, but Toowoomba colt Choistar is on a mission to deliver something more than a winner’s cheque when he contests the Magic Millions Trophy (1400m).
Choistar will be out to cash in on his high rating and two cracking lead-up performances when he lines up as one of the favourites in the $1 million feature.
Success in the race will give his trainer Tony Sears his first major Magic Millions win.
It would also provide a huge life boost to someone who will not even be at the track.
Choistar was previously prepared by Michael Flanigan who since May last year has been convalescing in Brisbane’s P.A. Hospital recovering from serious head injuries suffered in a track-work spill.
Flanigan will spend this weekend out of hospital with family at home in Toowoomba and Sears is keen to see Choistar give his friend a memorable afternoon.
