Hi lomaca
I see that you have some interesting results here.
Apart from a 'quick and dirty' look at the form guide, are you using box numbers as part of your strategy?

LGMe lord,
The short answer is, No I do not.
The longer version, without giving away more, it concerns improving performance.
What I found is that it produces a profit every week but not every day.
Same thing I found with my horse rating.
I treat this as a relaxation, brain teaser call it what you will and will not go to develop it into a full dog rating process.
Mainly because I don't know the first thing about what the "exprts" consider important, but I observed a trend that going back a year and a half and seems to be consistent.
As I said in the beginning, sometimes there are far better dogs in the race than my selections, but they don't qualify according to my rule.
If I could eliminate those races the results would be a lot better.
Maybe I should spend an other five seconds, or probably less, I don't know Lord Grey.
Sorry I can't be of more help and I probably won't post any more selections either.
Criticism and advice I welcome, snide remarks I don't. (not your question for God's sake, one has to be ever so careful here these days!)
Good luck

This is an interesting subject, if your talking about "form" or "recency" .
Neither of which I believe, other than they both are an artifact caused by the grading ladder or the physical features of the track.
But on your knowing which races to select, if you flip what your doing over, look at the in-form dogs (tale a look at the form of the fav in race 12 Sale you'll find it would be in-form solely on drawing the 1-8 box 50% of the time in its last 8 starts.
seeing it wasn't the top raw speed dog, this produced an edge

Fair enough, I stated often before, I know little and accept your opinion.

Just looking at the results there is no way at all I would pick #4 just does not fit!!!!

Fair call lomaca.
Didn't expect any further detail apart from what you provided - just thought I recognised a pattern there, but obviously not.
If it wins on a weekly basis for you, all good - keep it up!
Cheers LG

Hi Woof43,
Seems I have an apology of sorts to make to you regards referring to you in 1 or 2 previous posts as 'mr woof' - no disrespect meant. I have since trawled the traps for your contributions over the years here and would like to doff my cap in respect for your expertise and generous sharing of wisdom when it comes to the 4 legged ones.
Can I ask you to point me in the right direction when it comes to finding box SR stats for individual tracks?
Cheers LG

LG,
The grv.org.au site and thedogs.com.au have a lot of info on them regarding box stats. You have to register for thedogs.com site. Really good FREE formguides on grv, both sites have video replays as well (if you have the time)

Dear Lord,
Quite apt for a Sunday, perhaps.

Strike rates have little impact on what I do, I'd prefer to know the avg times of all runners from each box, for finish times and splits, these variables are one of the few measured with a rolling avg
