The 2016 Summer Olympics will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016.
More than 10,500 athletes from 206 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) will take part in this sporting event.
The games will feature 28 sports — including rugby sevens and golf, which were added by the International Olympic Committee in 2009.

Hopefully Valerie Adams will be there to defend her Olympic title.
Withdrew from last year's world championships in Beijing to have minor surgery to her right knee.
Back in training after a period of rehab.

The 2016 Summer Olympics marks the debut for rugby sevens at the Summer Olympics,,rugby union was last played at the 1924 Summer Olympics
The sports will feature for at least this & the 2020 Summer Olympics

Flame handed to Brazil in Athens
The torch will arrive in Brazil next week

The Olympic torch has arrived in Brazil
Started in Brazil’s capital city of Brasília,,the flame will be carried through 500 cities before arriving in Rio de Janeiro for the opening ceremony on 5 August
It will be passed through the hands of 12,000 runners & will be carried 20,000 kilometers by road and another 16,000 by air
