Hi Brian,

Fairfield is one of Sydneys best and most popular inner western Suburbs tracks.

Unfortunately due to burecratic bungling, they closed it down midway through last year.

They regularly hold trials and hope to reopen when someone comes to their senses.

Cheers mate

Good tipping Brian.

Of course, silly old me just plain forgot to back some of them and also put on a lot of silly extra bets in some of the races.

a4brianp
1st February 2005, 08:02 AM
thanks for that jaffa. The times from the trials indicate to me a fast track so have made my qualifying times a bit faster to allow for that.Do you know anything about Penrith as they seem to run fast times there as well.

Graces wilkes won started odds on and dont lie tipping them that short this maybe a problem using my system on nsw trots but will keep trying for a while

Still it paid $1.43/$1.23 on IAS. That will do me any time if the winner is going to clear out by eight lengths :) :) Thanks, Brian.

merriguy. Glad to help im finding my sydney ones have all been quite short even the ones i watched before posting them, but the strike rate so far has been real good.

Hi Brian,

Penrith is about 750 metre track about hour from Harold Park, Right next to Panthers rugby League club.

Normally have trials on Sundays --like a Gymkana and race thursday night every week. May race some time in day time now due to Fairfield closure.

Cheers Jaffa,

anything you need help with, ask away.

Thanks john if you are online the horse i tipped tonight at Geelong has been pretty well backed going by supertab divs so might be spot on.

2nd February 2005, 08:49 PM
Well, according to the caller, it was an 'enormous run' by Strong Ambition. I don't know about you Brian, but that's not a lot of consolation when they're odds-on. And if I had known it was going to end up showing $1.50/$1.60, I would have just backed it for a place!!! :o

a4brianp
3rd February 2005, 09:00 AM
Sportz biggest run from a 2yo that i have seen for a while got more checks than a bank teller .I backed it straightout too but have no doubt will get it back next start.
The feak also good run 3 wide for a big portion of race still there at the finish the whole field finished within a length and a half.
cheers

Cobram
3/1 Shannons legacy could be a chance first up won trial at echuca in ok time field looks fairly ordinary. rough chance to 4
6/3 Lady luck good win first up chance to repeat the 1 . 2 both good runs in same race.
8/12 Arragont al has done nothing in both starts but strong trial winner at Bendigo may improve here.

Newcastle 2/11 freddy corday probably short but should win on trial form
8/6 Piney ranger.no nothing about it so cant comment.

Sportz
3rd February 2005, 09:06 AM
No, I didn't back it straight out. I had it each way because I put my bet on early when it was showing $3.20/$1.60 or something like that.

a4brianp
3rd February 2005, 09:10 AM
I backed it straightout thought it was a special..

a4brianp

cheers hope it keep going

Sportz
3rd February 2005, 03:10 PM
Yeah, good start. That one in NSW paid 1.60/1.60. I've noticed that a lot of short priced favourites in harness racing seem to pay better for the place than you would expect. Might be something to look at.

a4brianp
3rd February 2005, 04:24 PM
Rest of Cobrams off so collects all round so far. What u say about Nsw is true as i have found out, form stacks up alright but short prices seem to be order of day.Really not happy tipping shorties but i suppose a collect is a collect.

Crikey. I missed the call of Strong Ambition's race, but when I updated the balance on my TAB account, I could see you'd got another good winner. Great tipping Brian.

I must say that I thought Strong Ambition's last win was good and I was amazed that it wasn't tipped and it wasn't shorter in the betting tonight. Not complaining though.

Bet you're glad you decided to look at these NSW tips Brian. :)

Hi sportz,

In regard to your back back to earth comments.

Mate, I don't think you were complaining but watching Brians tips on here and if anyone backed his HP 2 on friday night both at double figures, you would still be floating on cloud nine.

City class performers in trots always better then provincial form. ( 20 yrs bookmaking behind that statement)and should always be backed accordingly.

Cheers

The grey matter's not what it used to be.

Hard to believe my great uncle was a famous inventor!?

You can scoff, you can laugh! But if it wasn't for my great uncle, you wouldn't have these today:

Pedal powered wheelchairs......(g'day to any wheelies out there...no offence intended)

Waterproof teabags.

Underwater hair dryers.

Windscreen wipers for submarines.

Non-stick sticky tape.

Inflatable dartboards for campers.

An index for a dictionary.

Beer glasses with square bases so they don’t leave rings on the bar.

Ejector seats in helicopters.

Underground airports.

Wind-down windows on submarines.

Boomerang bullets.

Air-conditioners for motorbikes.

Anti-lock cars.

Ashtrays for a motorbikes.

Waterproof sponges.

Fireproof Matches.

Parachutes that open on impact......and

Hi Brian,

The track ratings in Sydney Harness Racing are as follows

City.

Class1/2/3 -- Harold Park --- Friday

Class 4/ 5 -- Harold Park --- Tuesday ( Normal meeting grades )

Provincial .

Level 1 --- Newcastle Saturday Nights
Level 2 --- Penrith Thursday Nights
Level 3 --- Bankstown Monday Afternoon.

Bankstown on Moday are very average, a lot of them wouldn't win at Gold Coast or provincial melb at their best.

You occassionally get a good horse going there for a first up fresh run, but thats all you would see of class runners normally at Bankstown and same for Penrith.

Regards

Oh! Okay. Thanks Brian.

Would you believe according to the form guide Allegro Boy hasn't won a race since 13 NOV 03! So certainly OVERDUE for a win!! :)

Yes Paddy as i said on insiderail you couldnt back it on form but time it ran in trial puts it in my system so therefore i put it up.This is how i sometimes get a real long shot up.Really pretty hard to back the other on form as well but was well in market first start so has shown something.

Hey Brian, I see Lisden One has just (23/03/2005) been exported to OZ from NZ. Best mile rate to-date was his 2nd-last start when 2nd over 2400m (mobile) at Winton NZ on 24/01/2005 - MR: 2.03.1. His other places have been over 2700M (standing start), 2400M (standing start) & 2600M (standing start). So I guess regardless of how he does today, could be worth following over a longer distance ;)

Well done. It was $6.70 on unitab. But even better taking it in an any2 bet with the field. Cost just $4 for a half unit. Got back $52.85!!! That's twice as much as the return from a $4 place bet which is basically the same thing.

Stix. The method i use gives horses 3 starts or 1 month to win.Oliver khan had gone off my readout and didnt do enough for me to add to horses to follow list.I do advise people to give them 3 starts and i usually do, but have been away and didnt have my database available.I will post on insiderail some data which shows how many winners and placegetters come out of the 3rd start.

Why wasn't Apache Reign a selection in R6 this week??? It ran a good race at long odds when you tipped it last week.

Anyway, that'll teach me to not look at the fields. I looked at the races you had tips in but not the rest. By the time I saw that Apache Reign was the racecaller's top pick in the race and was paying $10+, it was too late to bet. It paid $11.90. :(

That's a shame. But it's my own fault for not checking the fields. I thought it was a good run the week before, so if I had seen it early enough, I would have backed it, especially when it was the racecaller's tip and such good odds.

So.... call me stoopid (been done before).... but for April if I put $1 win on all your tips, I would be $21.80 in front ??
