Gday Frankster...
I backed 2 in the race 1st and 3rd.. had the 3rd place getter on top and the winner rated 2nd... Bloody stewards... it will make all the difference between a small profit on the day or a pretty nasty loss... I think we may be buggered.. do stewrds dismiss their own mates protests?

Gawd I hate protests... (not often I win one) I could hardly find a winner all day.. get a nice one.. then more than likely will lose it.. but I guess that is life on the punt..

Gee i was surprised didnt think there was much in that. Wouldnt like to be the bloke who had the 33grand quaddie only for it to be upheld!

To add insult to injury, the jockey on the protest winner hasn't won in town for 15 years!
Gotta love it.

Perhaps got to do with Frankster's comment above Mav. The jockey wouldn't remember where the stewards room was let alone how to lodge a protest. Makes you wonder why jockey's make protests at all if any with a chance of being upheld are brought up by stewards anyway. The jockey was to incompetent to protest, or even look at the patrol film, how is this any different to the jockey being to imcopetent to find a position etc? It's all part of their duties and the stewards shouldn't interfere, all it does is cause controvesy like this. They just love sticking there nose in, i remember 3 or 4 months back, backing Elmatilla in the seagulls race. Birds fly into horses ruining their chances all the time, just because it happened to more then one horse in the race shouldn't be any differently treated to if it did happen to only one.
They need to take some sound advice from a great man in John Lennon,
'LET IT BE'.

The jockey wouldn't even know where the steward's room was....too funny Mr Ed!
At least I have learned from the experience. Now whenever I have a go on a D. Moor runner...I back it each way. This worked well yesterday in Geelong Race 6, where Vaalser Berg ran second and paid 10.80 for the place.
I secrectly hoped there would be a protest, but then gave up on the idea as my success rate on protests runs at less than 10%.
