Just received this one today and had to pass it on.(Handwritten envelope)
How I turned $2500 into $105,998 in 6 weeks.
This so called genuine guy from (you guessed it) the Gold Coast claims to take away all your financial worries for a mere $599.
First time offered----The plan of the year------6 years of solid research and hundreds of failures and a handful of successes, I have finally formulated the
??????????Horse racing selection Plan with 69% winners over the test period and all the rest bla bla bla bla.......
The final bit that tickled my fancy was the guarantee....
"I KNOW I WILL NEVER HAVE TO HONOR THIS PLEDGE BUT FOR THE DOUBTERS HERE IT IS"
I pledge that if this plan does not return a profit greater than your purchase price within the first 9 months I will exchange it for another plan that has been winning. ....
What do these characters think we are.??? But then I suppose some poor gullible bugger will fall for it.
Cheers.

I pledge that if this plan fails to make a profit of more than your purchase price within the first 12 months I will exchange it for an other plan that has been winning.

Hi!
I might be a bit obtuse, but why doesn't he just offer the plan that's winning, in the first place?
Well at least it costs less then thousands. Thank God for small mercies.

I too received the same letter, from EDITED but now retired to the sunshine of North Queensland.
Must have been my lucky day as EDITED (from we all know where) also sent me a once in a lifetime opportunity.

i was reading on the net the other day about a big inquiry into scams in south africa and it sounded much like the one mentioned.
the difficulty of course is following the system.
i have tried for years to follow systems mostly create them myself and it is near impossible due to all the other demands that life takes on us.
some people have lost all their savings on these systems.

Apologies for mentioning the 2nd name, which you deleted, but it's beyond me how Enjay quoting "signed by ...." is allowed, but my quoting ",,," (same person & that's the name he signed) is deleted.

Received the same system offer. Unbelieveable high strike rate and profit. Seems to be based on horses going up in class/prizemoney chasing the big prizemoney.

Moderator,
I fail to see how reporting factual occurences, such as the fact that some forum members have been sent material pertaining to a particular system, needs to be edited. These are facts and as such are not slanderous.
Particularly when most states have a consumer affairs website naming these systems as scams. This is a fact, as such i fail to see the problem in reporting these facts so that others can gain from this knowledge.
For those interested please see the following link:

Please note Forum Terms of Use.
OZmium, the owner of this Forum, does not employ a team of investigative journalists. OZmium does not know whether accusations are correct OR INCORRECT.
The Forum is set up for discussion of topics in a non defamatory manner.
The Forum is not set up so anonymous members of the public may clearly identify businesses or individuals and then ask whether or not they are operating a scam etc.
The Forum is not set up so anonymous members of the public may clearly identify businesses or individuals and then say, "This business is operating a scam" ot "The product sold by this business or individual is rubbish etc.."
This invites legal action for defamation.
Posters are welcome to give a very rough outline of what they think might be a scam etc. or something they are querying, without naming or clearly identifying the business or individual, in order to ask what others think about it.
Clues about the identity of the business or individual such as providing an address, or a name with a few letters missed out, are not permitted.
The Forum is not set up for anonymous people to publish in public whatever they wish about named or clearly identified businesses at OZmium's expense and legal risk.
The South Australian Government lists a number of alleged scams at http://www.ocba.sa.gov.au/scams/05_getrich.html (http://www.ocba.sa.gov.au/scams/05_getrich.html)
However, legal action cannot be taken against the South Australian Government, because it has passed laws protecting itself from legal action. These laws do not apply to businesses like us.

Are you willing to cover OZmium's legal costs should OZmium be sued by a clearly named or identified business for defamation?

Fair enough Moderator,
I never suggested that people offer opinions. However facts, such as Mr A pty ltd located at No 1, The Street, Goldcoast are offering system 'abc' for $50,000 are facts - not opinion. Opinion could be deemed slanderous whereas facts are not. Name, occupation, address, price and system name or method of selection ARE NOT SLANDEROUS.
Similarly, postings that directly refer to the information contained within the OCBA or similar websites are NOT slanderous, they are - yes you guessed it - Fact.
It is a pity that you have to be concerned with the threat of litigation from these people, whilst completely understandable given the format of the forum, as it only serves to allow them to continue to thrive. Not your problem i hear you say, fair point. However i for one feel that postings that strictly adhere to the statement of fact, as outlined above, should be left alone and not edited. If this means i have to pay your legal costs, well you know what, go ahead and forward all mail from them to me. I would be happy to take them on based upon the principles listed above.

Comment:
1. Unfortunately we do not know for certain what is "fact".
2. Other posters will automatically make comments/opinion about those alleged "facts", opening the possibility for legal action.
3. Our legal advice is to take measures as we have to prevent this from happening in the first instance.
