It was the weather, the umpiring, but most of all OURSELVES that lost us the ashes!

Okay, whatever you reckon. Glenn McGrath stepping on a ball before the 2nd test didn't help either. Neither did Ponting's decision to send England in in that game. If neither of those things happened, we possibly (probably) would have won. BUT England played the best cricket during the series and (as much as I hate to say it) they deserved to win.
Unfortunately, I think Australia's arrogance and complacency has come back to haunt them. They simply weren't prepared well enough and they just weren't as professional as the poms. All those dropped catches and no-balls were a good example.
All those times we were thrashing easier teams in the last few years was a perfect time to introduce a few new players into the team, but instead they just stuck with the same tired old team.
If I remember rightly, you were one that pretty much laughed at me when I suggested a fair while back that England were a HUGE chance of winning this series. Not really having a go at you though. I'm sure many Australians thought exactly the same.

England's never beat anybody fair and square at anything. That's why we started shooting from trees and behind bushes during the Revolution!

Plus who cares if they won? You Aussies got the last laugh. They have to live in that rain and dreary weather while they sent your forefather's to live in a great country with better horses, better accents, better beer, and definitely better women!
