I have often wondered why the various clubs do not get togther and seek licence ( with their own betting control boards as licensee ) to operate their own betting exchnages . here they would be able to monitor all bets placed by registered persons ( ie: no cash bets ) which would toltally blow out of the water the poor old excuse of encouraging conrruption by 'unknown' persons . further more, the risk of loss is nil , as they are only the middle man , and all profit could be returned to the industry . worse cas, operating an exchange may in fact drive down the commission take of the TAbs forcing them to be more competetive and in effect also encouraging more turnover by teh larger players which ultimatley means more revenue . then again , maybe i have totally missed the mark here . anyway ,would be interested in the thoughts of my fellow punters .

Don't be surpised that WHEN, not if, Betfair is licenced, that the TAB's roll out their very own exchange. They already have the business name registered.
