This horse keeps losing as favourite. I think it has lost its last six starts.
What I can't work out is why it is always favourite.

I think there are a few reasons
He started his racing career in sensational fashion.
He is always given a big write up by the racing media.
He always does just enough to get you in next start.
Eg. He finished second on Saturday. If he meets a similar field minus the winner at his next start he could easily start favourite again!!

It's interesting how pundits are bagging the horse because it has six straight defeats as favourite. Most horses go 6 or more runs between wins so Excellerator is not out of the ordinary. The punters/media who dictate the prices are the ones who should take a look at themselves.
I wouldn't mind owning Excellerator ... even during this "poor preperation" he's managed two black type placings and about $50K prizemoney.
