A week is a long time in football!
Here are my comments from last weeks games -

Cincinatti 37 d Minnesota 8

Cincinatti have started off like a house on fire albeit against shocking opposition. They are 2-0 with a chance of reaching the playoffs but are in a tough division. If not this year then maybe next year.

Minnesota have never had a good defence but have also lost the plot with their offence sice the departure of Randy Moss. They are GONE.

Indianapolis 10 d Jacksonville 3

Colts have improved their defence out of sight. Their offence may have slowed down a bit but that is a good sign because it takes the pressure of their defence. I think they are looking the goods at this early stage.

Jacksonville are looking a chance for a wild card in the AFC. I really rate this team even though they have a moron for a coach. Chance at odds.

Pittsburgh 27 d Houston 7

Steelers look to be the 2nd best side in the AFC and have a very good rushing side with a strong defence. Test will be this week vs NE but I think they are certain to make the play offs.

Houston are cactus

Philadelphia 42 d San Francisco 3

Phily are probably the best team in the NFC but want to see more of them against the better teams. This scoreline against SF does not surprise.

49ers will probably win as many games as last year. Not many.

Tampa Bay 19 d Buffalo 3

Bucs are surprising a few with their excellent defence. 2 from 2 and a chance to make playoffs with what might be the best defence in the competition. Their offence is below par and this might find them out in the long haul.

Bills have had a funny start to the year but still expect big things from them this year. 50/50 to make the play offs and think they will be better later in the season.

Tennessee 25 d Baltimore 10

Tennessee were a big surprise winner. How bad are Baltimore? I wouldnt think the titans would win many but this is a shock. Watch with interest.

Ravens look very bad. I had high hopes for this side but have now changed my mind after this performance.

Chicago 38 d Detroit 6

Chicago's win comes as a surprise to me. Their defence has been excellent so far but like TB they lack a decent offence which might find them out. Chance to make playoffs as they are in a very week division.

Detroit were shocking but might benefit from the loss. I think they are good enough to win a position in the play offs in front of Chicago.

Carolina 27 d New England 17

Carolina were my pick for the superbowl at the start of season and this win makes me think they are a chance. Want to see them against more good sides before i make my mind up. Not a bad win.

New England are struggling with their running game. Tom Brady is holding this team together but they have a tough draw. Dont think they can win the SB and are a chance of missing play offs.

StLouis 17 d Arizona 12

StLouis didnt look that good in winning against an ordinary side. Their defence still sucks and coach is a moron.

Arizona are not improving like i thought they might. They are in a weak division so they are a chance of making playoffs. Dont want to be on them.

Seattle 21 d Atlanta 18

Seattle have always promised heaps and delivered nought. Good win against a handy side. They can make the playoffs but dont think they can win the big one.

Atlanta were not bad in defeat. I think they are struggling a bit and put too much weight on Vicks shoulders. Tipping them to miss playoffs which is probably a big call.

NYJ 17 d Miami 7

The jets would be happy just to get a win on the board. I rate this team highly and think they can go a long way. Will get better as season progresses.

Miami have improved and will be better with the return of Williams. They will upset a few good sides and are an outside chance for playoffs.

Denver 20 d San Diego 17

Denver are not playing real well. Very lucky win and dont think they will do much this year.

San Diego have lost 2 tight games but are competitive. Think they will win a few but not make the play offs.

Cleveland 26 d Green Bay 24

Browns are going OK this year and dont think they are the worst. Will win a handful of games.

Green Bay are terrible and the only thing going for them is that they are in the worst division of the competition.

Kansas City 23 d Oakland 17

Cheifs are travelling well and think their defence has improved heaps. Sights set on playoffs and a chance to go all the way.

Raiders looking good even though they are 0-2. Very unlucky to lose last game and will win several games this year. Give them a year or two.

NYG 27 d New Orleans 10

Giants offence is working well but questions on their defence. Might struggle against the good teams.

New Orleans are about a middle of the road side. Will surprise a few but will also probably lose some they should win.

Washington 14 d Dallas 13

Redskins were very lucky to win. Their defence is hot but their offence is non existant. Until they get a decent QB and wide receivers they wont make it.

Dallas have improved and think they are a formidable team. Can pinch a wild card in the weak NFC conference.

Great Post ATC

Can't argue against your analysis. Week 3 is very tough. THe more I look at it the more confused I get. At this stage only KC +3 looks good.

Being a sports bettor is tricky. Now have to factor in hurricanes. Houston have the week off, but will their stadium survive? Dallas are in SF but will the players minds be back in Texas. New Orleans will play home games in Baton Rouge and/or San Antonio. NO home field advantage was always a big factor for them. Now its ?????. Does anyone know if Baton Rouge or San Antonio are grass or artificial surfaces?

Guess thats what makes it interesting.

They are playing most "home games" now at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio. This is a grass stadium.
