Looking at a heavy or at the least a very slow track tomorrow so its a day to be very wary .

Race 1.
Good example is in this race,,no real rain affected form to go on..
I was very impressed with Mel so if you need to have a bet he'd be they way to go...MM bound this horse ..

Race 2.
As you guys would know i've been on Seven Crownies of late..and he has a big chance here...i must admit i wasnt all that impressed last start...it was a very easy race and he seemed to have to work hard..
a video special in this race is Czarboy ..last run in the open was better than Seven Crownies run...has wet track form but the barrier is a little worry..Skyleda with the wet track is in this aswell..
If theres value around for Czarboy i'll be on e/w ...there will be alot of support for Seven crownies so i should get a price..
Maybe a good exacta there..
Skyleda and King Cartier for the tri.

Race 3.
Hello Possums ..gets the inside barrier no weight and last run was huge..up in class here though but the wet track evens things out..
Im a fan of Willy Lieca but i think hes been set for something later ..he might be needing this run..and i dont think he'll get the right tempo in this race...best to be near the front i'm guessing and i hope Hello possums takes advantage of the inside..
High Academy and Party express around there somewhere and if your after a Muddy Listen Pal just loves it...
SHould get nice e/w's about Hello Possums..
I wonder if Prends can sneak in the field hey Sportz ??

Race 4.
Tuff race this one..All the fancies have drawn out ...La Montagna has wet track form and atleast has the good barrier..I'm going for class here though..Vitruvian has it in bucketloads..hopefully gets a trail and i dont think drawing out will be all that bad ..wet track ??? just not sure..
Strawbery Malt , Bold reason , Socialist all good chances..even Kids Show isnt out of it..
HArd race and would want value to consider it..

Race 5.
Was on Desktop MAgic last start and it was a huge run..no reason to jump off here...thought Denises Diamonds could give cheek in this aswell but Desktop has the some wet form and will do me..
the toppy is right in this aswell...
will work tris around these 3..

Race 6.
Persuades...good barrier good jock,,great last run likes the track , distance, conditions..gets alot of ticks..
Happier of course the danger..and Ally Bee grows an extra leg in the wet..

Race 7.
Succeeding ?? hopefully runs in this ...and ridden quietly ...i should get a nice price as they'll come for Hissy and Gordo...
Generalisimo loves the wet and Video hits is ready now to show something..
Succeeding is a promising horse but needs luck..will see how the backmarkers are traveliing in earlier races to give me some confidence..

Race 8.
I'm a fan of Fleet Baron and looks well placed here....noticed JB has switched from the toppy to ride him...
Kutalo should lead and will give a good sight..likes the wet to..
King latarmiss the muddy..
Fleet Baron needs some luck from the back but Jb is in such good form ,,,
can't see any value though,,so it might be a sit and watch race..

Not an easy day but i'm confident on a few...

Good Luck all :)

G'day Mav,

It does look a tough day tomorrow, but we'll see how we go (hopefully the fields don't get cut down too much from scratchings)...

Race 1 - Injebreck might be able to improve on the heavy going tomorrow with a few runs under his belt. Time Lion has been running OK in Toowoomba, this is the test though. Mel won well last time, but i just don't like short priced favs in 2yo races :).

Race 2 - Minoa can run OK here i think. Has won on wet before, and though i don't know the reason for his apparent failure last time, i'm willing to accept that it was an aberation. His best form appears up to these without a doubt. Skyleda has good heavy form and his last run was pretty good for a race like this. Seven Crownies is a show, but i don't fancy the jockey from the awkward alley.

Race 3 - All i can say is i hope a couple of these emergencies gain starts (Milady Clang and Prend). Because without them (particularly Prend) i think Willy Leica has one foot on the prize. With adequate speed, hes is just better than these and i think he should win. High Academy is a nice horse and is clearly my second pick with some good form here during the winter months. Pride of Paris will be the speed i imagine and he can stick on well when he wants to. Prend a big chance if he gains a start.

Race 4 - Guessing game here. All i can do is go with the one i think could win on good going, and hope :). Bold Reason has something of a boom on him and after the first up run i think he can nearly get away with this. Although he has the bad alley, he'll go forward and should prove tough to stop. La Montagna is a big chance with the wet form and the good run 2 back at Doomben. Magique Mine has shown ability in his runs to date and can definately figure tomorrow with some luck.

Race 5 - Shocking race. Gazzam has wet form and can produce a good finish now and then. There should be some good speed here, and he might be able to make the most of it. Late For Tea has drawn the carpark, but has got plenty of ability and if he can get in, he'll be right there. Dance Sally Dance will appreciate the drop in class here, after running behind Helter Skelter in the last 2 runs.

Race 6 - A Little Naughty is the way i've gone here. With some OK runs first and second up, and some good form on wet tracks, she'll do me fine. Behind what looks to be a hot speed, i think she'll be up there getting a nice run, and can finish over the top of them. Shysu is never far from the action and will certainly figure again tomorrow. Persuades being in the race is a worry because both of them like to run along out in front. Happier was a big effort to win last time, but the weight might prove difficult against some of these better mares.

Race 7 - With Planagram engaged, there should be enough speed for any horse to win. For that reason, i've settled on Templin. Will get a fair way back, but the wet track shouldn't worry and the distance should be exactly what he's looking for after some good runs recently. Hissy Fit is in great form and can certainly go on with it here, after Byrne has stuck and has the rails draw. Prosecution is as honest as they come and will have derived benefit from the last run, and can go one better tomorrow with an ounce of luck.

Race 8 - Appertain. I think he can go close tomorrow. Good wet form, has had a run or 2 recently for fitness. Can lead from the good alley, and showed a few months back that he was up to city class. Fleet Baron tends to run on without winning, but you can't leave him out totally. Stars o' Gold has been in good form without winning lately, but that can change tomorrow from the good alley.

On what is seemingly a pretty hard day, my best are Bold Reason and Templin with a good rough chance to Appertain.

Good luck all

Race 4 - Strawberry Malt in for Bold Reason. Not much speed on paper here, will play into Strawberry's hands.

Good luck,

I have actually managed to get online this morning which is a miracle in itself my head feels like t has been hit with an axe was drinking and playing Poker until about 4 this morning but here are my really quick tips for the day

Race 1: No Thanks

Race 2: Didn't mind Know a Lady E/W in this.

Race 3: I like Listen Pal here E/W loves the wet and off memory has run ok fresh in the past.

Race 4: Thought Magique Mine might be worth a bit E/W again track conditions would suit I think.

Race 5: Pass

Race 6: Love and Money has been in good form and even at SWP I think she has to be given a big chance in this the fact Colless is onboard doesn't hurt either.

Race 7: Motivate E/W again looks to be a pretty good chance here 3rd run back and the wet conditions will not hurt either.

Race 8: Pass

My other bets will be Avenida Madero and True Steel in Perth and Spuruson in Sydney with a bit of luck could be a good day for me.

RACE 8: APPERTAIN

GOOD LUCK TODAY...

For Eagle Farm, I only like Strawberry Malt and Love and Money, but considering neither have even placed on a wet track, I'll probably leave them alone for today.

Good luck today everyone!

I've been on Seven Crownies too and I stayed with him today. I certainly had Czarboy as a saver though. Did you get the trifecta?

Hi Guys...couldnt believe the track could be dead today..its been bucketing down all week ..changed a few things ..but not alot ..

Race 1.
Mel proved my assesment of him...very good horse this one...to short for me today but i'll be on when i get some sort of price..

RAce 2.
Well i got done by a nose here .. i thought Czarboy would have it on Seven Crownies and with an easier run probably does..
had the exacta 50 times at 17.60 !! wow i should be looking at exactas alittle more often..
so a nice little return ...missed the tri though..
ssurprising how much a nose can cost..

Race 3.
Nothing for me here with the track at dead..didnt like Willy Leica so i hoped you guys on betfair were listening..(then again if you listened to me about Seven Crownies you might'nt of listened to me)
dont give up on old willy...he just wasnt right and was very distressed after the race..

Race4.
Wow $15's about Vitruvian ?? was rubbing my hands with glee ...nice place collect and the tri a few times....
with the track at dead i should of jumped back on the Malt but still happy with the collect..
Fantastic run by vitruvian as he shyed down the straight and lost momentum..

Race 5.
Woohooo Desktop Magic...nice run ..a nice price ..very very happy..

Race 6.
Did something stupid here..with the track at dead i jumped back on that donkey Sharp Aunty ...some one slap me please ..
under estimated Shysu whos a real flyer around here..

Race 7.
Maybe i'm over estimating Succeeding ...didnt do a whole lot ...Video star ran well without me on him...at those odds i should off spread the bets..

Race 8.
Woohoo Fleet Baron ..thought he'd be odds on but the bookies gambled with him...got the tri a few times and the 1st 4 :)
Happy days.....what a super sub..Jb out Colless in ..easy money..

Fantastic day at the Farm ...I've just been so lucky in Brissie i'm going to continue betting on the Saturdays only ..its so good to get to the track early and catch up with people in the know...surprising how much the stable hands know about everything...little gossip heads they are..

Hope you guys picked a few..i see Strawberry Malt is a fav on the thread at the moment..paid $5 ?? wow ,,some value in that race..

What the...? One of these days I'm going to have to try out your idea of the field trifectas. Would never have given the 11 or 18 much chance at all in that race.

You know before I repickled my brain yesterday afternoon I actually considered backing Early Express e/w for 2 reason Jason Whiting was getting off of Rescuer to ride it and he was drawn beautifully. This is a horse I used to back quite a bit a couple of years back but then it disappeared off the scene. As far as Blinded goes it was one of the favourites in the race last year I believe and ran a great race behind Modem off memory. I had an awful day yesterday punting and that was mainly due to Avenida Madero who 3/4 of my money for the day was on that will learn me. I won't remember to much about it anyway pretty much drank myself into a stupor last night at the wedding then later on back home with most of the wedding party.

Mav, I think you know Brissie form more better than either metro Sydney or Melbourne.

Keep churning out those Brissie picks, forget Sydney or Melbourne.

maverick1993
4th December 2005, 10:17 PM
Thanks D105 for the advice..
yesterday i actually finished ahead at both venues ..my figures in Sydney aren't fantastic but still show a profit and after a good spring carnival Melbourne has made good progress ..its still my only losing state but not by much...Adelaide which used to be one of my best venues has copped a hammering of late but still shows a good profit..
the failures of Merlot Now and Sparkling Now who both have been real good to me in the past have let me down..my fault for being so loyal at times to my stable..
I'll continue to bet in all states while my overall bottom line is good ..

But yes brisbane is certainly my best and the reason my stake is twice as high as in other states..
But if it aint broke ..don't fix it ;)

wow a week off...i wonder if i'll get the shakes :)

Have a great break Mav, i follow your Brisbane picks in NZ and actually do better with them than i do on the local scene.

Thanks for posting your thoughts.:)
