Is this a hot streak or is he a top class rider?

Being out of racing for 18 months has got me stumped as i cannot remember his name ever coming up much before the suspension. The last week he has been on heat, not sure of exact win % or numbers but i am pretty sure he has riddn at least a double every day except one.

Interested to see what others think.

i think he is in the top 3 jockeys in melbourne wen it is wet...behind childs and king.....and not too shabby when its sunny either......very good prospect

If u use ratings, and include a jockey figure in those ratings, Newitt is well and truly in the top echelon of riders down there and deserves a top rating figure when you see his name...

He is a Tasmanian, and I remember him winning the Hobart Cup on Moody's horse Zacielo, not long before he was outed for telling porkies at an inquiry into Leone Chiara, yet another nag that has cost jockey's big time, and really hasnt lived up to hype... bit like No Penalty..

I have absolutely no prob having my hard earned on when C Newitt is doing the steering.. Tho I am not sure the Freedman clan feel the same judging by what Richard had to say on Sydney Radio today...

He was certainly right up there before he went down... the poor kid got scared into the adjudged "lie", maybe. It's just like a courtroom- heavy stuff when you're that young.
Anyway with Moor, Shinn, Newitt and Melham, the Vics lead the way with the kids.
