Going to follow a pretty lucrative system live here.

RULES

The trainer must be a leading trainer.

Hayes
Freedman
Hawkes
Waterhouse
(will do for now)

Trainer must own or part own the horse.

These trainers have wads of cash and don't invest in a horse unless it's pretty special, or has the potential to be. They want to retain an interest in the horse and are prepared to forego a percentage of training fees.
Trainers are savvy business people and don't invest lightly.
Got to be some sort of guide.

I believe this is a very logical way of determining selections. I will certainly follow with interst, and the success is all there for those to see if they wish to follow for periods of time.

Ive backed Set Apart at $2 EW for a little dabble.

I do not expect to make a profit from these horses for quite a while. It is the surprise results which make up the profit. i.e. poor form, but capable of winning as they have an inherent edge. At least that's what the trainers reckon ;)

C.P.not knocking your system but I reckon high profile trainers horses are over bet to the hilt by the rank & file. I've been following trainers that have a high strike rate but aren't "fashionable", for a while now with quite good success.

Hi freek,

yes they are overbet in general.

BUT I am sticking to the horses that may not have good form, but the trainer thinks they are good enough to own or have a share of. This is where we get the overs.

Time will tell I guess, and yes you can follow high strike rate trainers but with low profiles. Good luck with your venture.
