Happy new year everyone, all the best for 2006.
What great racing there is today.
Flemington
El Man Goss - Ridiculous first-up record and has raced extremely well down the straight before, only query is the gate (and the price) other then that - too good, want $3.00.
Sorenstam - Is a high class mare who just had no luck last time, hit the line gamely and the extra distance suits ideally, very happy to risk Talons Shown big weight now and she seems to keep her best form for Sandown, Maxerelle had all the favors last time and Sorenstam meets her 1kg better for being beaten around 3/4 length.
Sydney
Suel Amour - Looks the bet of the year (so far) he has been getting home very nicely in top company up there and now gets to a distance that suits ideally, he is nicely weighted from the toppy who's been off the scene and it really looks a matter of by how far.
Dane Again - Roughy of the day, this horse showed enormous promise as a juvenile down here in melbourne but went off the boil. He has since changed stables and his first up effort in sydney suggests he's back to some form. He was burried away on the rails and stuck to the inside down the straight (probably not the place to be) He cruised up nicely though and looked set to unleash a good sprint, but his condition gave way, he'll be fitter and looks a mean chance for mine.
Hopefully get 2006 rolling on good note.
Cheers Ed
