Sunday's Retribution.

Casterton R5 1 Golden Whirl
(Sir Dapper's son in great form).

Flemington R4 10 Big Amy
(This is her last chance for my money. Could be something fishy going on here. Failed miserably at her last provincial start 9 days ago. Before that failure was knocking on the door for a city win. Could surprise at decent odds).

Flemington R5 6 Prince Rubiton.
(Speaks for itself. Danger could be Fields of Omagh, but a query first up and would like it longer).

Warracknabeal Cup R5 3 Sand Belt
(Should be a special as the rider dropped his hands a little behind Bush Padre and Brave Chief...which won yesterday).

Just noticed that the jockey was changed on BIG AMY for that provincial run and now it's back to the regular jockey Michelle Payne. Well, we'll know in about 8 mins!

BIG AMY shocker of a run, very ordinary and gets dropped from the blackbook.

SAND BELT saluted well in the Cup @$2.80

GOLDEN WHIRL very disappointing.

PRINCE RUBITON poor effort with the danger FIELDS OF OMAGH winning well @$9.20.

Overall a good day, with few disappointments.

Solomon Grundy born on Monday!

Warrnambool Race 3 H1 Magic Lira
(Racing in great form over the steeples, last start won by 12 lengths, and two starts back won by 3 lengths and is a winner on the track, has everything going for him but rises 6kg to carry 68 kg on last win. This should not be a problem as carried 67 kg two starts back and won).

Forbes R7 H2 Mighty Pedrille
(Ridden by M.Munday  racing in great form and only finished 1 and a half lengths behind the winner last start in Open company, has won over the distance and only finished 2.1 lengths behind the winner at 2nd last start at Canterbury and handles any going).

Gatton/Ipswich R6 H1 Lord Karioi
(Has topweight of 58.5kg but has an apprentice on board claiming 3kg. Recent form is better than it looks. Last few races have been at Doomben and close to the winner only 1.2L and 2.6L respectively, should account for these runners over the short distance. The main danger appears to be SPIRIT OF NORWAY racing below best but could surprise at decent odds as it's the class horse of the field out of form).

Magic Lira was scratched.

Spirit Of Norway and Lord Karioi both failed to live up to expectations.

Mighty Pedrille won the Forbes Cup @ $8.40 ridden by M. Munday

A good end to the day for Solomon Grundy!

Solomon Grundy Christened on Tuesday!

Wangaratta R6 H3 DARROWBY LIVEWIRE
(Been racing at the metro tracks of late and 2nd last run only 2.9L from the winner. Will appreciate the drop in class from class 6 metro to class 5 provincial with a claim gets in nicely at the weights. Has been placed 9 from 16, won over the distance and can handle the wet).

Muswellbrook R5 H2 GYARRAN
(Last start ran 1.5L 3rd behind the good horse shockeroo and was three wide for a good part of the race. Was also challenging right up to the 100m mark. Handles most going and has won at the track and over the same distance and been placed 15 from 26 starts. There's no Shockeroo in this race and Rita Englebrecht has dropped regular jockey C.Agnew for G.Ryan).

No Christening Today!

Both horses proving to be costly commodities.
At $1.60 S-TAB Gyarran was false odds and no value anyhow and still couldn't run a place.
