Darky, flat staking the first three favs for varying amounts equals punting equivalent of chinese water torture? (except death of punting bank would mercifully arrive much sooner)
Respectfully suggest you put this one back in the time capsule and seal the lid with superglue.

Okay Darky,
you asked for it!!
A "Glenno" type system(although invented by me).
Back any horse with an "X" in it's name.
That's it.
The old K.I.S.S. principle (keep it simple stupid).
I could do all sorts of retrofitting here, like Mr. EXcellent, and more recently MaXimgun which paid $210 on Unitab.

Form figures 2nd last run = 1, then worse than 4th last run, i.e. 10, 15, 16, 17, etc if none then third last start a win i.e. 100, 125, etc etc last 2 finishing positions do not matter as long as won third last start. This time in only,..... a variation is the same rules but working down from Tab no1, no2, no3 etc until a qualifier is reached that is quoted at $3.50 or above in the pre-post (source doesn't matter as long as same publication used permanently)

Darkie,
Don't worry about the replies here, I think the idea is very clever, I just want to know if you apply the power of ten that you use to this method.
If so how do you do it.
Do you add upthe bets 15 10 +7 which equals 32 then divide that by the power which = 3.2
then get your target of say $100 then divide that by 3.2 which = 31.25 then bring in a divisor 99 which means the first bet will be about 31.5 cents.
No too confusing for me.
Could a self proclaimed professional punter like yourself please explain to me how to do it.
Thanks in anticipation.
Chika.

I did this where there was only 1 seleciton thrown as it was a very poor return when there were more than 1 selecitons per race
Returns approx 82% from approx 17100 bets

Returns 62% from 248 bets.
Well from all of that we got 1 system that was in profit.

Hey! 82% is not too bad at all, considering no filters. Ok how about the following have been trying to get some number crunching on this one for ages:
(a) Take all horses with form figures 11 (last two runs this time in) MISS its next race, then back it 1 unit win next TWO runs. (Maxi -Divi)
(b) Take all horses with form figures 11 (last two runs this time in) take a 1 unit all up (race to race, Maxi-Divi)) for it's next 3 runs. i.e. looking for the treble when a nag wins 5 in a row, (happens many times every season)

My dad always used to back all horses with form 65 or 56 in last two starts. I'm sure it was not a great strategy, but it did produce some good dividends. A neighbour's friend follows horses that have dropped 3+ kgs from their previous run.

Hi all
Darky the concept may be worth investigating further.
By looking at the market and only getting involved where there are only 3 the market wants with a good gap to the 4th fav.
eg
2.4
3.2
4.8
9.8
12.0 etc
One of the first three win 90% of the time.

Hi
Wesmip1
If its ok and possible i and maybe the forum would be interested any stats you may have on numbers 1 and 2
Amount of races
number of wins
average price
I once read there was little between these two numbers strike rate wise, but both had encountered long outs of 50 or more at some stage.
When i looked a bit closer some time ago many were outside market expectations in that group.

All,
I am back from poker ( got 13th out of 134 players so went ok ). I am pretty tired though and full of the flu so I will fire up the database tommorrow night and run through all the requests.
I still need to code up the test for partypooper too (I haven't forgot just busy).
If you want anymore test just post them.
Maybe ( and its a big maybe) if I get a chance I will download the radio tips + tipsters tips and late mail from unitab on the weekend (for the last 3 years). I will then be able to test systems that use those as critiera. NO promises at this stage though as I haven't even started the code to grab that at all.

Wesmip, your contributions are invaluable indeed!
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, but since you're answering a few queries in this thread I was wondering if it wouldn't be too much trouble to fire up your thingamebob and give this a whirl:
(1) 10 or less starters
(2) UniTAB 100 points
(3) 54.5kg, 55kg, 55.5kg weight
(4) Good and Fast tracks only
(5) No maidens or jumps
Was just fiddling with my filters and the above showed a very interesting result. I'd like to know whether it's just an anomaly due to my selection process, a coincidence of the past 7-8 weeks since I've been tracking, or if there was maybe something there.
Cheers.

Hi
Thanks for that Wesmip1.
I am not sure if you can but are you able to see if at any of the meetings for the day of horse racing
were there any that a number 1 or 2 did not have a win.
So if 32 races for the day in total did a number 1 or 2 not win at all for the day.

So if 32 races for the day in total did a number 1 or 2 not win at all for the day.
This happens for Number 1 approx 4-6 times a year.
This happens to number 2 approx 6-10 times a year.
So the answer is yes it happens but not very likely.

ubetido, this reminds me of a system called "The old 1,2", this is taking the prepost fav as the bet IF it is TAB no1 OR 2, AND finished 1st or 2nd last start, (OR 1st up over 1200 metres or less) if not, take the 2nd (or joint) pre-post fav. if it is TAB no1 OR 2, AND finished 1st or 2nd last start.(OR 1st up over 1200 metres or less)
It is rare not to get at least one winner on any given day, though if you have target betting in mind, remember "beware"
PS. It is important that you always use the same source of pre-post fav.
