Hi punters,
Just a query to anybody who may be able to help. Would somebody have the rules for an old system called Winmaster by Statesman of Practical Punting magazine. This published about 1990. Any help would be appreciated.

Good punting
Eddy.

Not 100% sure, but I think it may have actually been a ratings service, not a system.

Ohhh, okay. I think I've seen them then.

I thought that was a system of your own and you were just using that name to take the you know what out of PPM.

I was thinking of introducing another good consistent one there. However the prices are a little short most times.
However should one stick to those at $4 + a good profit should eventuate.

Will make up my mind on Friday.

The other one has quite a few followers (UDH).

Cheers.

EDDY,

JUST DUG THRU OLD COPIES OF PPM AND FOUND "WINMASTER DETAILS IN SEPT. 1990 COPY.SPORTZ WAS RIGHT IT WAS ADVERTISED AS NOT BEING A SYSTEM,BUT A BETTING STRATEGY.FOR YOUR MONEY YOU GOT A MASTER COPY WITH ALL RELEVANT DETAILS ON 500 "IN FORM HORSES",AND ALSO ACCESS TO A TELEPHONE SERVICE FOR 3,6 OR 12 MONTHS.SO IN EFFECT,IT WAS A TIPPING SERVICE.IT WAS NOT ORIGINATED BY STATSMAN.THEY CLAIMED 73% POT AT LEVEL STAKES OVER A 1 YEAR TEST PERIOD(RETROFITTED OF COURSE)BUT WITH THE INCLUSION OF STATSMANS "MASTERSTROKE" STRATEGY,PROFITS TREBLED TO AN AMAZING 211%.

I DOUBT YOU WOULD BE ABLE TO STILL GET ,AS THE MASTER COPY INVOLVED 500 HORSES IN CURRENT FORM,UPDATED MONTHLY.

YOUR'E LUCKY YOU CAN'T,CAUSE IF YOU BELIEVE THOSE FIGURES,YOU STILL BELIEVE IN SANTA AND THE TOOTH FAIRY.

ANYWAY,HOPE THIS HELPS IN SOME WAY.

The one I loved was from another mob which went

"$300 betting 3 % profit $362,607.00.

"Do come and meet my pixies at the bottom of the garden."

Yeah, that's what I thought. I remember it now. It was a ratings service where they gave out 500 horses all with different ratings figures for different distances and track conditions, and they updated the list every month. It would have been very difficult to keep that many horses up to date all the time. I'd suggest it probably went down the drain anyhow and only lasted a year (if that).

Dont they still have a list in each edition, with a rating and suitable distance range?

Yeah, but that's in the magazine. This wasn't in the magazine. It was a much more expansive version that you had to subscribe to. I've just had a look back at my PPMs from 1990 and found the ad for it. It was a 90 page book with in depth ratings of 500 horses which cost $99. If you paid extra, you got monthly updates sent to you as well. In all, $250 for the whole year!!!
