I was trading the favourite in the 14:25 at Thurl last night. I'd gone in pretty hard and was pleased to have "green-up" for a nice little result.

About 5 minutes before the jump the market was suspended. Thought there must have been a scratching and things would come back to normal in a few seconds. Nup, the market remained suspended until the jump. My monitor flickered and I couldn't believe that the lay side of my trade had been voided leaving me with a very large bet on the favourite. No chance to cover myself. It was too late. They were off!! http://www.propun.com.au/racing_forums/images/smilies/eek.gif, http://www.propun.com.au/racing_forums/images/smilies/eek.gif and double http://www.propun.com.au/racing_forums/images/smilies/eek.gif !!!!

What do I do?

I went from What the ...., to this must be a mistake, to what's the In Play phone number, to come on you good thing, to no no no, to YESSSSSS as the fav fought back after being headed 100 from home for a very brave win. I had literally been sitting with my head in my hands peeking at the monitor through the cracks in my fingers.

"This won't work in my favour" I said to myself. Seemed to take ages for the market to be settled but when it was I'd won the biggest win bet I've placed for quite a few years. And it was all a horrible mistake.

I checked my e-mail and the following was in it:

The runner, Midnight Gift was erroneously removed as a non-runner from the race Thurl 8th Mar, 14:25 2m4f Nov Hrd . It has now been reinstated. Our policy in these circumstances is to:
reinstate previously matched bets on Midnight Gift
readjust matched bets that were adjusted by the removed runners reduction factor
void bets matched since the non-runner (only applies if a reduction factor was applied)
One or more of your bets may have been affected by these changes. Please accept our apologies for the error.

APOLOGIES FOR THE ERROR!!!!!!!!

I also had a similar problem on the 1.25am at Thurles.

I backed Kazal for a win and it won. I also layed Nay which lost.
Two and a half min before the race "suspended" came up. The place market was not affected.
Not only that, my bets vanished into the ether. Checking my account, I found they had been voided.
I gave up and went to bed

Yes I knew I'd used my luck quota for the night then and packed it in myself. Not sure where the "error" was made, Betfair or from the info coming off the track. Either way somebody must have lost from this though. You'd be a bit peeved I reckon.

Maybe a Lotto ticket this weekend might be just the thing http://www.propun.com.au/racing_forums/images/smilies/eek.gif
