straight bets are- WIN only...favorites tend to hit the board alot going 7 furlongs so it doesnt make sense to throw place bets on all horses.

exotics are played if the favorite can cover straight bets.

One more question - is this a method that you can share or is it more art than science?

DenIts really basic dennis. 7 furlong races are usually won by the fastest horses.

horses who tend to run in 6 or 61/2 furlong races and cant quite win but are always chasing the speed will relish the 7 furlongs(1400).

but also a change that had to find down under was horses that have huge turn of foot coming off the pace going 6 or 6 1/2. i mean horses that really turn it on in the last 200+ meters. 1400 meters is really a tough distance for horses to come off the pace. basically they tend to go the early stages in a more leisurely pace. but speed and on the outer post positions is the key to this distance.

if you figure the field is too large to keep a lite pace or there is too much speed in the race watchout for the pack that will be coming late.

you will have to put in some light studying but not too much.its pretty basic. believe me alot of people probably think 1400 will benefit a off the pacer stretching out from shorter. in some instances yes but the majority no.

you will also notice on the grass a horse stretching out to 1400 after running forward shorter does not always have to be on the front going 1400. on dirt in america it is no choice but to be up close.

i am gonna be lucky enough to see that too. awesome! dont really know what part of the country that is located but im hoping for a firm to good track.

alot of sprints tomorrow. there are only three 1 mile races that im gonna be able to view. so gonna have to study up on my t.o.e. and see if we can get some bombers in. had some real high priced one flying home yesterday but the wire came too soon.

IMO Scenic Silver is the 'class' runner but not sure how fit he is with just the 1 run under the belt (after a brief let-up).

Suited the inside marble as he races on the pace. 5,8,9 and possibly 10, all like to race upfront, so there should be pace, which may not work in Scenic Silver's favour if he contests the lead and they go hard. Hoping Scott Seamer coasts just behind them. Moodee and Bareena will be especially suited if a fast pace. I'll be saving on these 2.

I'll be saving on these 2.unfortunately im only able to see 2 tracks tonight and that kensington and sandown. so i cant see a true form. but i did take a look off the basic form off of ARB website and it looks like with all those horse stretching out from 1200 and just barely getting there at the finish i would say there is gonna be a swift pace that should help the off the pacers in this race. believe me these jocks know what its gonna take to get these horses to win today and its gonna be moving forward. so id would go with a deep closer a horse that has a big kick at the end of past sprints..

threw him in the 2nd leg and nailed the ezacta for $72.90 and the trifecta for $511.10.

zac gave him a good ride. had me scared coming to the wire. my ony two on top of the trifecta were the #1 and #2 not the #7.

I had problems with this, but i found this Free -- neat -- little -- alternative pdf reader at " Foxit " try yahoo 3rd line down

Initially, after downloading i just did "Save target as' & then opened it up with foxit but it has now become my default reader & is working sweetly

My thoughts, the 5 < currently $2:60>is very good but the wet might give others a shot to beat it.....but who?
The 4 is 8/6 at the track, 6 for 5 at distance and 14 for 6 in the wet with a good jockey, and I like 9 and 10 and then 8...so I gave up.

G'day pharfromoz :) Curious how things are going in general with the 1400M focus on Oz races Vs USAdont really get the payouts up in the US compared top down under. alot more players up seemed to know that the 1400 is won by the fastest horses. also seems to be easier on the dirt track.

but with all the new synthetic tracks being installed up here some tracks just wear down the speed. for instance the new poly track at del mar was a killer for front speed. adjusting wisely.

but it seems like the 1400 is alot more popular down under then up in the states.
