The straight course at Ascot underwent complete reconstruction ahead of the course’s reopening in 2006. Ascot now has an uninterrupted straight mile course following the elimination of the road crossing and a completely new drainage system has been integrated. The King’s Stand Stakes is run on the final 1200m (last 1000m) of the straight mile, with the course rising gradually throughout from the start to the winning post.

If you fancy Benbaun then you'd have to give Desert Lord a chance!
A real speed machine over the 5 furlongs.
Just pipped by Benbaun when last they met.

...one of my bets last year was Tax Free..was up with them for the 1st 700/800 but slowly dropped off to be beatan about 5 lens..won 5 races since so perhaps better than that run..got 15/1 last year (from memory) 6/1 currently not very attractive..if he drifts a bit might have a saver

All aussies gallopers reported fit & well. Trainer Joe Janiak reckons Takeover Target is in better condition that he was going into the race last year. Lee Freedman has indicated that Takeover Target is the one he is most worried about. Gai Waterhouse has stated she feels certain Bentley Biscuit will be a stronger chance in the Golden Jubilee Stakes than the King’s Stand Stakes.

something about a poor blood count?
Lee Freedman has moved to dispel rumours doing the rounds in Australia that all is not well with his star sprinter Miss Andretti.
There had been reports that the mare had a poor blood count, but Freedman has set the record straight and revealed she simply had a low potassium level - an issue which has been rectified.

Hi SPORTZFAN, and thanks for the well wishes's. I'm still debating which way to go to be honest. I'm not a big fan of the "hype" horses, but in Miss Andretti's case it not all hype as she is quite deserving of the praise she receives. That's putting me off her a little. Similarly it's difficult to judge if all the travel and strange evirons will have an effect and then you have to include the fact that she'll be up against TT and Bentley. Tough one...
Certainly open to suggestions from others. Hows about you, any thoughts?
Just watched Benbauns last run at the Curragh in Ireland. Wasn't blown away but the i-r-i-s-h conditions might have played a role. He'll prob win now, LOL.

I have been trying to work out some of the english form over the last day or so and I must say they are a very close bunch of horses in this race, The aussies might prove to good but they have to settle in and handle the conditions these pommy horses already do that I'll be back later with some tips as I simply haven't finished going over the form yet.

After having one more quick look Desert Lord looks a likely leader suited by the 5 furlong trip he could prove tough to run down as he does have some decent form around this trip running a 3/4 length 2nd to La Cucaracha in August last year giving her about a kilo, she was supposed to have been one of the better sprinting mares in the UK I believe just wasn't quite right this time last year although she was only beaten 2 lengths in this race last year so this guy might be decent value at $35w and $9.50pl being offered.
Drawing a line through another of the fancies and I know conditions can skew this sort of thing a bit but Dandy Man who most seem to think is a danger to the Aussies and was beaten 1 length in this race last year, in a race in Spetember last year he beat a horse by the name of Excusez Moi by a length with a kilo weight advantage, that same horse was beaten by King Orchisios by 3 3/4 lengths in may thias year when giving him about a kilo so drawing a line through this form it would possibly suggest that King Orchisios is a chance in this currently sitting at a quote of $101w and $26pl he might be worth an e/w dabble.
I will be back later to point another one or 2 horses out i have to head out for an hour or so now though.
Once again guys I amnot trying to see these things are sure things or anything but looking through the form they atleast have a bit of a chance at odds against the aussies who are no value whatsoever, that is all I am offering here is a chance at some value.
