Real favourites system

This system will generally only select shorter priced horses (they win most of the races) but has some rules that eliminate the worst of these short priced runners

THE RULES

1) Eliminate any horse that has not had at least five starts

2) Eliminate any horse that does not have a win strike rate of 20%

3) Eliminate any horse that has not run in the first four at its last start

4) Eliminate any horse that hasn't started in the last 21 days

5) Eliminate any horse that hasn't won within 100 metres of today's distance

6) Eliminate any horse drawn wider than 9 after scratchings

7) Eliminate any horse that has won its last three starts

8) Eliminate any horse being ridden by a 3kg claiming apprentice

9) Eliminate any horse showing less than $2.90 with 5 minutes to go in the betting

Some time ago I tested rule 3 for Laying purposes. I even looked at faves that were unplaced at last two starts and also at their last three starts - unfortunately all three methods were unsuccessful.

The same with rule 6 - it was unsuccessful.

Rule 7 began promising, but eventually went backwards.

However, I have never tested any of the other rules except for rule 4 but only with faves resuming from a spell, again that eventually failed.
