I have data in one column like this 1668X which is a horses last five runs and I want to put each run into 5 separate columns. What sort of formula would I need for this?
Thanks

I posted a similar Excel query a while ago - Shaun provided an excellent example spreadsheet which had loads of useful formulas which helped me split up data in single cells etc.
Cheers

Just about all formula needed for extracting and processing form can be found in that sheet, i would like more automation involved but it allows for errors and adjustments.

You could post a small example of the sheet with say about 20 entries preferabely with the split already made so that I can see where you want it and where you are getting it from
Is the name of the sheet that you use always the same name?
Macros are much better especially because you dont need to copy and paste the formular. I generaly have a sheet that has my macro and I then point the macro to find the sheet with the info and proces it with just one click.
