Whilst I have the upmost respect for the appointed Stewards Panel in Sydney and they do a herculean job in overseeing the daily running operations of this multi million dollar business(N.B. it is no longer a sport), I believe it is time for an ICAC officer to be appointed to the steward's panel.
This officer will not answer to the Chief Steward, rather, he/she will have a roving commission to investigate any matter(s) which may cause concern to the betting/general public(be that racing, trots or greyhound racing).
He/she will have the authority to instigate a roving commission to view betting sheets or what other documents are deemed appropriate to determine whether further action is warranted.
IMO the sooner the better!
I will be writing to the appropriate Minister in due course to outline my views, opinions and recommendations.
Accordingly, I encourage any other punters or racing industry participants to contribute their constructive views which will give a broad spectrum of feelings regarding this very pertinent concern.

Cheers.
