Think there is a number of lower weighted horses in with a great chance and at value!

Early selections are Chairman's Choice, Elegant Fashion & Society Beau

Top tipping dolly007 & INTUITIVE who both selected SHOT OF THUNDER.

Wasn’t it a rough house affair, especially over the last 100m. Spotted one horse that nearly fell & lost all momentum, when looking to be in a winning position – not sure which one it was.

And to boot, multiple protests!

Run it again and I dare say we could end up with a different result.

Hi RJ,

The horse that "nearly fell" was one of my selections - SOCIETY BEAU. About 100m out Society Beau pig-rooted, the jock almost came off, lost his irons, and rode the remainder of the race sitting on the saddle with no irons! Great effort.

Not a good race for me, EXCELLERATOR was scratched and SCENIC PEAK ran a close 2nd, but was protested out of a place.

I think Intuitive was unlucky not to have the quinella with Shot Of Thunder and Chairman's Choice , the latter was very unlucky down the straight copped a check from Society Beau which MIGHT have stopped him from actually winning the race i thought.

Yes Society Beau was something beaten, it looked to me like the horse actually slipped rather than pig-rooted but I could be wrong. Looking at the replay, it's hind leg seemed to slip and the horse panicked trying to keep itself upright.

Shot of Thunder, the ex WA horse was a bit too good on the day. Scenic Peak was a bit unlucky as I thought he came again on the line. I don't know whether the interference warranted him being relegated to fourth. Have seen a lot worse let go. I backed Pernod each way so I was pleased the protest was upheld.
