Thanks Mr Quaddie.

The horse ran 2nd unfortunately and paid $1.60.

Will post them when they come up ( fit the criteria).

Hopefully the method will be successful on a DAILY basis. The rules are strong enough I feel.

Time will tell of course.

SEA ZULU Won @$1.90

CASINO

RACE 6 HORSE 8 = BANGALOW BLUE

Due to the short priced nature of these might I suggest the 6 POINT DIVISOR PLAN of Staking.

Following with interest, Darky.

Might be worthwhile pointing out that Betfair often pays a 3rd dividend even when there are less than 8 starters in a race (the rules are there somewhere!). It is certainly worth checking.

While most would not have expected a return on Bangalow Blue, I was able to get $1.39 for the place --- not much, perhaps, but better than zilch!! (especially important if one is following your 1:5 suggested staking.

Thanks Merriguy.
I expected it to run better than it did as had the best wet track form of any runner on the day.

Merriguy, you're right about Betfair paying three divvies on some races that have less than eight starters.

The rule is that if more than seven horses are originally nominated for a particular race then Betfair will pay three divvies in spite of how many are subsequently scratched. However, if after scratchings there remains only three starters then there will be no Place betting. So, if there are eight nominations then four are scratched, Betfair will pay three divvies even though there are only four runners.

I have once or twice used this unusual scenario which doesn't happen very often, but have never lost.

Hey Darky,
When using the 6 point divosr plan with shorter priced horses, what do you do when you get down to the last divsor of two, and the horse comes in paying around the two dollar mark? seeing as you require a $3 winner to reach your target. Do you accept the profit and move on? Or do you then chase the remaining target? I have often played round with the 6 point plan on paper, using a dutch method I use, but because of the smaller divvys, I hardly ever seem to clear the full target, and reducing the divsor again seems pointless, as then I might as well be betting level stakes to win a certain amount. Any suggestions??

Michael, yes certainly worth keeping an eye on!

What I usually do is hit the bet (no amount as yet) and the site will tell you how many will pay for the place.

Thorns.
I accept the profit and move on.
I never allow the MINIMUM divisor to fall below 2.
If the target amount is very low i.e $5 I will add another MAX target to it.
My MAX target to begin with is $60 on a $1000 Bank.
I agree the bank is a bit low to begin with as a TRUE bank for this type of betting should be 40 times the amount you want to win .
i.e $60 X 40 = Bank $2400.
Time will tell if this is the case with this one.

No bets today unfortunately.
