Ascot R4 No.1 Key Flyer
Looks a good each-way chance. Two of its last 3 starts have been on shifting ground when it couldn't handle it. Others runs have been good.

I noticed Bomber Bill starts his campaign at Caulfield tomorrow R7. The barrier is against him, but seem to recall he flashed home at Flemington to beat a good field at odds. Based on his previous form over the distance (especially over west), he is usually good for at least one good collect and isn't the worst in this race.
Do you rate him any chance (that's if he runs)??
Thanks for the Perth tips - keep 'em coming!

Track rated fast. Two rated selections scratched - Well Connected (R5) & Devilish Dealer (R7).
Now include R5 No 5 Gilligan's Girl & R7 No 13 Hide The Halo.

Hi Magoo. Track conditions and distance would have suited Bomber Bill, also well weighted & normally goes pretty well fresh. Barrier would have been a problem, perhaps that's why his has been scratched.

For those who might be lucky enough to be attending the picnic amateur races at Lark Hill tomorrow. Over Qualified, the top weight, will be very hard to beat in the Cup, but I do like No 2 Dom Sebastian to greet the judge.

See you've got 5 winners there Perth Placegetter, including Exbury Fair - $14.90 & Win To Grin - $12.20. Well done!
As a matter of interest, how did you rate the winners of the last 3 races, if you don't mind me asking.

Hi Paddy, welcome back, did you have a good break?
After scratchings, Mr Callahan (race 7) was rated equal 5th in line with Bold Mirage – only 1.75 lengths behind top rated. Great divi especially on WA Tab.
Aussie Strike (race 8 ) was rated equal 8th in line, some 2.5 lengths behind top rated. This horse improved sharply on best rating, over what appeared to be an unsuitable journey. I’ll be watching with interest this horse’s next performance.
Arrian (race 9) was rated equal 5th in line with Double Jewel, only 1.5 lengths behind top rated.

I see Golden Mill 5/4 fav won the Lark Hill Cup. Over Qualified was scratched and my fancy Dom Sebastian, ran 4th beaten 1.25 len.
Did anyone go to the meeting? If so, how was it?

Hi Sandgroper, see your published (and looks like unpublished) ratings did OK on Saturday. I backed Double Jewel (unplaced fav) in the last, but see you only rate DJ equal 5th in line. Curious why you did not have DJ rated higher?

Hi BettyBoop, simple answer to your question re Double Jewel. His best rating distance to-date has been 1000m. His 1100m form is not too bad, but his form over 1200m has been inferior. Subsequently my rating of DJ was lower than it would have been had the race been over 1000/1100m.
