Not sure mate. It's not been much of a guide in recent years to the season proper. I really can't get into a pre season comp and so don't follow most of the matches.

The Cats didn't hurt their chances today, only did what they needed to do

As much as I hate tipping them I reckon Collingwood might defeat Geelong. It's only pre season, but Collingwood seem to do OK against Geelong and avoid blow outs.

Who ever wins (Geelong or Collingwood) it seems to be a disaster for the season proper as most recent NAB Cup winners have failed to raise a roar during the real season!
So let's hope Collingwood wins the NAB Cup!

Pretty sure the Cats will raise a roar during the real season. What do you reckon, Try Try Again?

Have to agree MHMC. They were pretty awesome weren't they. Even with the injury to Josh Hunt they still have plenty of options going into the season proper. Just goes to show there is a huge gap between the top teams (Geelong/Hawthorn) and the rest if the top teams come to play!
Only 11 more sleeps before the real stuff starts - Bring it on!

Yeah, even this early on, a replay of the 2008 grand final is on the cards!

Round 1 is always a diabolical problem for people trying to do footy tips and Dream Teams with only the Rich/Carl teams being announced. All the other games leave us in the dark!
Having said that isn't it great to have such a tremendous opener for the AFL saeason - two up and coming teams followed the 2 Grand Finalists from last year facing off on Friday night. The NRL must be very, very jealous of what the AFL has to offer!
I would be very surprised if Richmond doesn't make the 8 this year with the team and extra year's experience they have. Let's have a go at selecting the "Final" ladder
Geelong
Hawthorn
Western Bulldogs
Collingwood
Port Adelaide
St.Kilda
Carlton
Richmond
Adelaide
Brisbane Lions
Fremantle
Sydney
North Melbourne
Essendon
West Coast
Melbourne
Anyone ready to offer their opinions?
