Excuse my ignorance but where would you find the information to answer the following question?

list all last start winners that were 1st, 2nd or 3rd at the last turn (or 400m) in their last race.

This is one of my little "pet" areas, but I am not sure this is what Deborah09 was looking for. That link which I started of course only relates to the current race, maybe she is looking for a back history of results.

Paulfor that you need a database with past form, she obviously does not have any, so this as close as she can get without paying, I thought.

If you can help her with better advice, good, do so!

OR. she could find some people with a strong database and a big ego.

Start a thread.
"You guys haven't a clue, I have found the perfect system, all you have to do , is this ,this, this and this"...
one of them eager to prove their wisdom, will show how foolish she was with a strike and pot stat spread. HA!
Knowing she has someone well and truly hooked ,she then defends it with some distance factors,
another quickly jumps on board, with a 2 page blizzard of stats broken down by distance...
she can go away happy with data she wanted, happy as a proven manipulator AND without paying a zak.

I am sure this does not apply to the poster or people in this forum..posted for thought and a mainly a laugh ( i just wrote a long serious contribution a second ago in another thread so :P)

Actually they are not bad figures. A very good starting point here. This works out at 50 bets a week. And of course these are over all distances and at all metrop venues.

I recently purchased CP's data base and its every impressive. However I haven't had much of a chance to trial it out yet. It's on my pc back home, I'm currently down in sydney visiting the fam.

I'll play around with those stats a bit more when I get back home in another week.

I subscribed to get Practical punting monthly for a year and got the triple crown system free.

Hope the system works out for you Deborah. I started buying PP in 1986. There is a lot of good handicapping info. in it, but I have never tried one of their systems.

Take care and tread lightly.

I subscribed to that mentioned mag for ten years all during the 90's. A mate and I bought several of their systems, silly boys we were, none of them ever worked.

Back then I used to keep a pile of Sportsman papers with the results inside each one. I backtraced one of their systems once that we bought, and found that the "50/1" winner that was produced in their usual pages of past performances of the system, was not actually a selection. As I recall the selections were advertised as available on friday via a "charged telephone call". The "50/1" winner only have come about through a scratching on the saturday morning and would not have been a selection on the friday.

I wrote and told them of this and naturally got the usual reply which said nothing.

Not sure if I was allowed to say all this on this forum. I do admit that some of their articles were a good read though.

Hi Deborah,
I ran the Triple Crown through my data base at the time & it showed a substantial loss every year , over 4 years..

You would get a better result just betting the 2nd, 3rd & 4th Fav same amount on each in races with 1-9 runners SR 45%
Max price $25.00
Using Betfair prices .
Use Bet Trader Pro (free) so as to bet below the Betfair min .
1c bets if one wishes.

Try not to use TAB prices because they are nearly always lower & unlikely to show a profit, because they work on 118.5% overound as Betfair is 5-10%

Cheers.

A very smart move. A lot of punters could save themselves a fortune long term and have just as much fun by doing the same. There is a lot of intellectual stimulation and pleasure in racing and winning even a $1 bet supplies plenty.

I'd advise to keep records of bets [if your not doing so already], and when you can show a profit over a few months, you can bang your bet amount up to $2.

I joined sportsbet. deposited my $100 bank or whatever it is called and got a free $100 bet. (which you have to bet the entire amount on one bet)
So I came away with $210. So my bank is now $310. (wow that is alot of $1 or even $3 bets. :)

Will look into betfair. Thanks =)

Put in $9 yesterday, returned $30. $21 Profit.
I know, not a lot, but not a lot to lose either.

As for withdrawing my original $100 after I had that $210 win from the $100 free bet. I have decided to leave all winnings in until the bank gets to 1k, and withdraw the profit once it reaches 2k, always leaving a 1k bank.

Any tips on this, or other suggestions ?
