Hey am after some advice on a old system that I got sent.
A couple of the final rules require using a couple of stats from the Daily form service which was available on the nsw tab site. The figures I'm after are Field strength, and also the score from the quick form option.
Are these stats still readily available? I had a quick look on the nsw tab site, but seeing as todays racing has finished, wasnt much help.
If the TAB dont have these stats anymore, can anyone point in the right direction?

I believe the concept of opening an account necessarily involves the depositing of monies.

I don't think Stab has. Not that I know of anyway.

The sister TAB(VIC) also has DFS Form. You need to become a member (join) to use the form on the racing page for each state. You will also need to invest a small amount ($10-30) over a six month period or they will close your account.
A small price to pay.(That is TURN-OVER the amount, you don't have to re-invest each period, just have some action. Just don't loose it)http://www.propun.com.au/racing_forums/images/icons/icon11.gif

Stab has horse ratings as do Unitab, but only Stab requires an account to access horse ratings. Isn't 'field strength' different to a horse rating? Can't find that on Stab. I do have an account.

Yes, those DFS stats are still in the nswtab site, although the form format is slightly different now to what it used to be. I really dont use the nswtab site much these days. I think I still may be 50 cents in there...!!

I am pretty sure that they use the form which was originally instigated by Malcolm Knowles for the Wizard Formguide. I once did a check on the figures and they were all identical. Back then there used to be stats for a lot more than there is now (in the nswtab site).

I actually still have 3 of Malcolm's pocket guide books that he used to sell, with all his comments on various form aspects. He goes into the DFS in detail including the field strength figure.

Funny thing is though, not that I would doubt his stats. All these books were published in around 1998. Recently I purchased the data base from this site, still playing with it now. But I did run some identical searches to what Malcolm had published in his books, in relation to certain form factors. And I got nowhere near the same stats. The stats from the data base showed a rather big loss compared to these books profit. Odd...!!
