Today I placed a $50 multiple tri on melb race 1 and it lost.
Now i want need to win that $50 back and make a profit on the next bet. How much would i need to place on the next bet.

Try for the win bet. It's slower but you have a better hope of winning. The exotics will send you broke.

I must admit you are right. How about picking 1 horse per meeting to run the place. That's shouldn't be to hard.

2. If you're interested in racing what do you think just having 1 bet a week will do to you?
3. How do you pick that one and ONLY one standout place bet? Just have a think of all the other candidates you dismiss - with many of course placing.
No need to add a thumbs down, Mr. Logic. Moderator.

In defense of Benny's idea, Mr Logic, he does say one horse per meeting --- not one per week! There were quite a lot of meetings today (and there are every Saturday). But your criticism is valid in that most of us would not be content with even one pick per meeting.
I read somewhere that an elderly gentleman turns over an annual five figure sum just by picking two or three place "certainties" a month. Obviously from a large bank, but....
