Hello all,

My name's Paul, I've been reading your posts for a month or two and thought I'd like to delve into the mad but totally enjoyable world of systems with you.

My father told me some time ago about backing no. 1 in set weight contests, he reckoned it made a profit over time, does anyone have any info on this?

I was thinking of adding factors relating to:

track and distance
track condition
starts from a spell
Must have won or placed last start
or
Must NOT have placed last start

I've seen that a few of you are working with mighty fine, massive databases, so if you have a moment to check it out I'd greatly appreciate it!

I look forward to pontificating about all things horse racing related and have a fine day one and all.

Cheers,

Paul aka 'Twoshoes'

There is a UK site called Adrian Massey (Google)
Its fee & interactive.

It may be of interest to you to try out some ideas such as this, even if its just for the fun of it.

No, unfortunately it makes a good lay system.

Even leaving out Hurdles and Steeples it returns a 29% loss

Just considering favourites, it returns a 14.61% loss
